Lenten Series - Fr. Xavier Harris, O.F.M., will conduct a series of classes on Repentance in the Gospel of Matthew. The classes will feature a commentary by a distinguished Matthean scholar, Daniel J. Harrington, S.J. and a Jesus film on the Gospel of Matthew, which depicts the Gospel verse by verse.

Native-American Trip ~ July 4- 11
|
Don't miss this once in a lifetime experience to explore the Navajo (Dine) and Apache cultures and engage in interfaith dialogue. During this 7 day trip our group will visit numerous archaeological sites from Canyon de Chelly in Arizona to Mesa Verde in Colorado to Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. You will gain a new appreciation for the history and culture of the first inhabitants of the United States.
We will visit Catholic churches on the Navajo and Apache reservations which integrate the symbols and architecture of these peoples and we will learn about how the Catholic Church has adapted to the culture of the Native Americans by inculturating the Apache and Navajo symbols into the celebration of the Mass
The culmination of this trip will be the possibility of participating in an Apache Sweat Lodge. The Sweat Lodge is a transformative experience conducted by an Apache Medicine man.

Help Rebuild New Orleans ~ June 27 - July 3
|
T he Diocese of San Jose is sponsoring an adult trip to New Orleans to assist with the continued rebuilding of that area in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. You will spend a week helping to build about two houses with Catholic Charities in New Orleans.
In the evenings participants will engage in faith sharing and discuss their respective religious beliefs, Buddhist and Catholic. During this unique experience the group will not only build homes it will also build relationships of trust and mutual respect. During the course of the week the participants will learn how Buddhists and Catholics share the common values of service, compassion and the belief in human dignity.
