Realizing Peace
"The mind is always scheming. Looking for ways to make you happy; ways to make you feel good. How you can avoid feeling the things you don't want to feel and how you can feel more what you would like to feel. There is nothing wrong with this, it is the nature of the mind. But it is also how stress is created. Because there is what is here in this moment and there is how you would like 'here' to be. If you really look this manipulation is happening most of the time.
Even when you sit to meditate the mind is scheming.
The last thing the mind wants to do is to let go of its control and experience this moment.
But what happens if you let go of all the scheming and simply feel what is here. Not just in meditation but in daily life.
If you find yourself in a situation where you are confronted with something you do not wish to feel. Whether there is a feeling of loneliness, jealousy, fear, awkwardness, whatever feeling is there instead of letting the survival instinct kick in and control it, mask it, distract yourself from it, what if you simply allowed yourself to feel that feeling. If you allowed yourself to be completely vulnerable to that feeling.
I am not talking about analyzing it or dramatizing it but simply to feel the sensation of that feeling. To just allow it.
If you allow yourself to feel what you have been avoiding feeling suddenly you are immersed in this moment in a way you might never have been before.
You are so immersed in this moment, so open to what is here, that there is nothing to hold on to, nothing to know. And although it may leave you feeling completely vulnerable to what is here, it also leaves you completely in peace. If you are completely surrendered to your experience of this moment then you are at one with this moment. You begin to recognize the underlying experience of deep fathomless peace that is here all the time. And in this peace you can learn through practice to remain in it; to remain aligned with it.
All of the things that you used to avoid now become opportunities to move deeper into peace. It is the practice of moving beyond the mind, beyond knowing into your natural state. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. Chapter 4
The Now To have your attention in the Now is not a denial of what is needed in your life. It is recognizing what is primary. Then you can deal with what is secondary with great ease. It is not saying, "I'm not dealing with things anymore because there is only the Now." No. Find what is primary first, and make the Now into your friend, not your enemy. Acknowledge it, honor it. When the Now is the foundation and primary focus of your life, then your life unfolds with ease. |

Reflections of the One Life: Daily Pointers to Enlightenment by Scott Kiloby by BookSurge Publishing Paperback ~ release Date: 2009-08-10

January 29th Detachment Detachment is sometimes confused with apathy. Detachment is not a state of not caring. It refers to seeing that no experience, thought, state, or other manifestation ultimately affects or changes your true nature as emptiness or formless awareness. Formless awareness is naturally detached from the forms that arise and fall in (and as) it, including states of caring or not caring. It is non-dual. Awareness sees that positive and negative states are dualistic and temporary. Apathy is a negative, dualistic, and temporary state. States are manifestation. Detachment is not a state. It is an attribute of awareness, which is the unmanifest. Perhaps a better word than detachment is nonattachment. Detachment assumes that there is a separate you that must detach from something that is arising. But awareness is not a doing. Awareness is naturally nonattached from whatever it sees. To be nonattached simply means to see that who you are is not limited to any particular temporary thing arising in awareness. You are that which is looking. Stated another way, awareness sees that it is appearing as everything that is arising. The unmanifest appears as the manifest but grasps onto nothing that is arising including a temporary state of apathy. January 30th Liberation from suffering, not from pain Liberation, as that word is used in these reflections, means freedom from suffering, not from pain itself. Suffering is the psychological accumulation of mental and emotional energy over time in the form of a story of me. Pain is a natural, dualistic occurrence in life that can arise in the present moment. For example, you are suffering from chronic physical pain in the leg. Liberation will not free you from physical pain. Liberation is freedom from attachment to the psychological story of suffering surrounding the pain. If made completely conscious, the story might appear as My life is so hard because of this pain. Identification with the mental story, and the emotions that accompany it, creates an overlay placed over the actual physical pain experienced in this moment. The mind is adding time to the pain. The result is psychological and emotional suffering in the form of the story of me - the one who is suffering. Likewise, liberation may not completely free you of anger, sadness, and other emotions and states. These emotions can be natural responses to particular life situations. Liberation frees you from attachment to these emotions and states. In liberation, anger, sadness, elation, frustration, and other emotions and states arise and fall spontaneously in awareness (but with no attachment). Feelings are directly seen and felt and then they naturally die. Stated another way, these states and emotions arise to no one. |

Time Never Happens
(Continuation...)
The mind dissolves when it tries to see or touch that objectless place. The search collapses. It is undermined rather than fulfilled.
In fact it is not so much that the mind dissolves but rather that Consciousness, which had assumed the form of a separate limited entity through identifying itself with a body and a mind, relieves itself of this identification. As a result, it recognises itself, realises itself, remembers itself, experiences itself, not in the disguise of mind, but directly and knowingly.
Consciousness realises that it does not receive attention, it gives attention. And subsequently it realises that it does not give attention. It is attention.
Attention is Consciousness with an object. When the object vanishes, attention simply remains what it always is, Consciousness.

Man is not the Doer

Q: We are selfish, we know only self-love.
M: Good enough for a start. By all means wish yourself well. Think over, feel out deeply what is really good for you and strive for it earnestly. Very soon you will find that the real is your only good.

(Jordan highlights or comments on quotes from the teachings above.) |
From Nisargadatta (1/4/12): "Use every incident of the day to remind you that without you as the witness there would be neither animal nor God." ++++++
From Michael Brown (1/2/12): "Our overall energy levels are a direct reflection of the condition of our emotional body."
Jordan: This is interesting and good to know.
