The quotes are from seven teachers of non-duality.  The passages on the right are updated daily and the one on the left by Kip changes weekly.   Jordan makes comments in the bottom panel and you are invited to join in on The Daily Now blog.

Realizing Peace

"The mind is always scheming.
Looking for ways to make you happy;
ways to make you feel good.

How you can avoid feeling
the things you don't want to feel
and how you can feel more
what you would like to feel.

There is nothing wrong with this,
it is the nature of the mind.

But it is also how stress is created.

Because there is what is here
in this moment
and there is how you would like
'here' to be.

If you really look
this manipulation
is happening most of the time.

Even when you sit to meditate
the mind is scheming.

The last thing the mind wants to do
is to let go of its control
and experience this moment.

But what happens
if you let go of all the scheming
and simply feel what is here.

Not just in meditation
but in daily life.

If you find yourself
in a situation
where you are confronted
with something you do not wish to feel.

Whether there is a feeling
of loneliness, jealousy,
fear, awkwardness,
whatever feeling is there
instead of letting the survival instinct
kick in and control it, mask it,
distract yourself from it,
what if you simply allowed yourself
to feel that feeling.

If you allowed yourself
to be completely vulnerable
to that feeling.

I am not talking about
analyzing it or dramatizing it
but simply to feel the sensation of that feeling.

To just allow it.

If you allow yourself
to feel what you have been
avoiding feeling
suddenly you are immersed
in this moment
in a way you might never
have been before.

You are so immersed
in this moment,
so open to what is here,
that there is nothing to hold on to,
nothing to know.

And although
it may leave you feeling
completely vulnerable to what is here,
it also leaves you completely
in peace.

If you are completely
surrendered to your experience
of this moment
then you are at one with this moment.

You begin to recognize
the underlying experience of
deep fathomless peace
that is here all the time.

And in this peace you can learn
through practice to remain in it;
to remain aligned with it.

All of the things that you
used to avoid
now become opportunities
to move deeper into peace.

It is the practice
of moving beyond the mind,
beyond knowing
into your natural state.

Blessings,

Kip"

The searching mind

You hear so many pointers to presence that refer to the ego as a thought-based, illusory entity. There can be subtle tendency to create inner resistance to thought. This resistance is hardly detectable. It tends to arise when you notice that you've been stuck in a story of past or future. The tendency is to subtly believe that being stuck in stories is bad or unenlightened.

In reality, there is no such thing as being stuck, bad, or unenlightened. Those are also just stories. They arise from a mind engaged in a spiritual search. The search is a movement of mind that is trying to bring about transformation. That storyline tends to judge thought as bad. It creates a duality between awareness and thought, preferring awareness over thought. So when excessive thinking about past or future arises, the searching mind judges the fact that you are lost in a story again.

Thoughts aren't bad or good. They just are. Making thought into a problem creates more seeking as the mind tries to reach a place that is free of thought. It is seeking future. In seeing this movement towards future, it is realized that awareness is already here. It is what is looking. Awareness sees that sometimes thought arises and sometimes it doesn't. It's that simple. Any other view just creates more seeking

THE EMOTIONAL BODY RADIANCE STATEMENT

Our Emotional Body Radiance Statement serves the same purpose as our Presence Activation Statements from The Presence Process; conscious mental repetition activates the experience of mental presence. The difference here is this mental repetition opens us up to an awareness of the flow of the energetic relationship we experience with everything in the world. Another difference is we receive only one Emotional Body Radiance Statement. As its name implies, this mental repetition encourages our energy to radiate inward, facilitating the conscious movement of our awareness from the physical, through the mental, and into the emotional body. Our Emotional Body Radiance Statement reads as follows:

WE LOVE LIVING

WE LOVE EVERY MOMENT

WE LOVE EVERYTHING

WE LOVE EVERYBODY

WE LOVE EVERYONE

WE LOVE OUR COMMUNITY

WE LOVE OUR FAMILY

WE LOVE OURSELVES

WE LOVE LIFE

WE LOVE

LOVE

Time Never Happens

(Continuation...)

Consciousness thinks that it is not present and that it needs to find itself. It has forgotten that the idea that time and space exist independently of objects, that they are the substratum of experience, is a concept not an experience.

To begin with this 'gap' is conceived of as a blank object, a 'nothingness.' However, conceiving itself in this way, Consciousness is simply creating as close an approximation to itself as is possible within the mind, because Consciousness cannot conceive of itself as something that is not an object.

This gives it something to look for, something that has no qualities and yet that seems to appear in time and space which are still, at this stage, considered absolute realities.

 Man is not the Doer

(Continuation...)

Q: We love only ourselves.

M: Were it so, it would be splendid! Love your self wisely and you will reach the summit of perfection. Everybody loves his body, but few love their real being.

From Above...

(Jordan highlights or comments on quotes from the teachings above.)

From Nisargadatta (1/4/12):  "Use every incident of the day to remind you that without you as the witness there would be neither animal nor God."
++++++

From Michael Brown (1/2/12):  "Our overall energy levels are a direct reflection of the condition of our emotional body."

Jordan:  This is interesting and good to know.
