Transcending the Mind
"The mind is a non-stop chatterbox. Always talking talking talking. Commenting, judging, defining, describing, knowing.
It is very important to become aware of the constant noise of the mind.
If you are involved with it, then you cannot be aware of it.
If you are the one that knows, that defines, that describes, that judges, then you cannot be aware of it.
There has to be the willingness to either step out of that identification with thinking so that you can witness it or to direct the thought process through a technique like repeating a mantra, self inquiry, watching the breath, anything that focuses your attention so that it is not a slave to the thinking process. And once there is a build-up of focused attention or ability to witness thinking, then silence begins to make itself known.
Perhaps it makes itself known through Shakti, the subtle energy that is felt as bliss or perhaps it makes itself known through the experience of impersonal being or perhaps in another way. But if you give your attention to it in meditation, if you allow it, at some point, the silence begins to take over.
The silence begins to consume all of the noise. It consumes all of the limited ideas of who you are and what you know, until there is nothing left for you to hold on to. And in that you learn to surrender into the silence so that there is only silence, the nature of which is unconditional peace. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. Chapter 3
The Egoic Self
In your dealings with people, can you detect subtle feelings of either superiority or inferiority toward them? You are looking at the ego, which lives through comparison.
Envy is a by-product of the ego, which feels diminished if something good happens to someone else, or someone has more, knows more, or can do more than you. The ego's identity depends on comparison and feeds on more. It will grasp at anything. If all else fails, you can strengthen your fictitious sense of self through seeing yourself as more unfairly treated by life or more ill than someone else. What are the stories, the fictions from which you derive your sense of self? |

January 20th Co-creating reality Thought is memory. It cannot see what is. Only awareness sees what is. Thoughts constitute an interpretation of what is. They are memories. Therefore, no matter what you conclude about what is seen in this moment, the conclusion is not what is. It is your interpretation of what is. Your dream. Reality is both formless awareness and the forms (interpretations) that arise from it and disappear back into it. In that way, one could say that reality is being co-created. There is what is plus the interpretation of 'what is.í Your mind is interpreting reality all the time. Conflict and separation appear real when you believe that only your interpretation is correct and you do not see that formless awareness is arising as every interpretation. It is arising as everything you see. When you find yourself in conflict, it just means that you mistook your interpretation of what is happening for reality itself. In reality, there is no conflict. Conflict arises when interpretations clash. Do not seek to be rid of your interpretation. Simply see that it is an interpretation. In that seeing, there is no longer identification with the interpretation, yet there is also not a denial of that interpretation. Thought still arises but it is no longer creating conflict. This is when it is seen that Oneness is seeing itself everywhere, in the broad diversity of life. Formless love is seeing and loving itself in every form.

Spinning
(Continuation...)
When we initially commence this practice, we immediately feel the power of it, and may feel dizzy or nauseous. These sensations pass after a few moments. To integrate the source of the nausea, in particular, we are asked to keep our mind open. We have already discussed the possibility that our energetic systems, while we are in a time-based paradigm, serve as hosts to astral presences seeking to experience this world through us. One of the beneficial effects of Spinning is this procedure rattles these presences to their core.

Chapter 93
Man is not the Doer
Q: It is truth I seek, not peace.
M: You cannot see the true unless you are at peace. A quiet mind is essential for right perception, which again is required for self-realization.
Q: I have so much to do. I just cannot afford to keep my mind quiet.
M: It is because of your illusion that you are the doer. In reality things are done to you, not by you.

 From Above...
(Jordan highlights or comments on quotes from the teachings above.) |
From Nisargadatta (1/4/12): "Use every incident of the day to remind you that without you as the witness there would be neither animal nor God." ++++++
From Michael Brown (1/2/12): "Our overall energy levels are a direct reflection of the condition of our emotional body."
Jordan: This is interesting and good to know.
