Acceptance

"If you want to learn acceptance,
then the next time
you are caught out in the rain
without a raincoat or umbrella,
rather than run for shelter,
allow yourself to get wet.

You will be very aware
of the resistance to getting wet,
that instinctual urge
to run for shelter,
the sense of 'me'
that wants to protect itself.

This is what
must be surrendered
in order to stay out in the rain.

When this resistance
is surrendered,
and you allow yourself
to fully feel the experience
of being soaked,
then there is a sense of freedom
from yourself that carries with it
a sense of deep
unfathomable peace.

It has nothing to do
with liking the rain
or not liking the rain.

Rather, it is letting go
of the one that likes
or doesn't like,
the one that separates
itself from the rain in the first place.

And when you do that
you are simply left
with what is.

There is no you
and what is,
there is simply what is.

And the experience
of what is
is peace,
is delight.

It is completely
open and vulnerable
and complete
in itself.

If you apply
this experience
of being in the rain
to any situation,
any emotion,
then there will be
incredible freedom.

It has nothing to do
with the particular experience,

rather it is about
letting go of the one
that separates itself
from experience,
letting go of the one
that tries to control
the experience.

Because it is that separation
that creates all conflict.

Blessings,

Kip"

For or against

Some try to think themselves into freedom or happiness. The idea is that, if "I" keep thinking, I will come to some final conclusion about myself or life. A mind engaged in this thinking game may take a position in favor of thinking and against a message about pure awareness.

Others realize that there is a pure awareness here that is beyond thought. The mind may return to take a position in favor of awareness without thought.

Still others experience a liberating seeing that what we are is an opening in which there can be either thought or no thought. The mind may even take a position in favor of that experience.

Thought likes to conclude that its particular experience is "it." It looks for agreement in the world with those who mirror back its conclusion and disagreement with those who don't. The dualistic mind knows only for or against. Its subtle goal is to reinforce a me that is right in relation to the others that are wrong. This is how non-duality turns into fundamentalism.

Sooner or later it is realized that there is no single experience of life that is "it." This is arising as every experience and every dualistic conclusion. In this realization, the mind still does what it does. It plays in dualism. But it is realized that what we are has nothing to do with a particular experience or dualistic conclusion.

INTENTION OF TRANSFORMATIONAL BREATH

by Judith Karvitz

Transformational Breath is a powerful self-healing modality that integrates and
Logo with CompassionWorks
heals on every level of our being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Using a FULL connected breathing pattern Transformational Breath (TB) brings awareness and life-force into the entire body, clears mental tapes, integrates suppressed feelings (imprints) stored in the subconscious, and enhances the connection to and experience of Presence.

The intentions of TB are multifaceted and begin with the facilitator's intention to support the overall intentions of the process, which are to:

1. Assist in fully opening the breathing pattern of the client.

2. Facilitate the integration of suppressed emotions and memories.

3. Support the connection to the client's Presence and greater expression of his / her Spiritual nature.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion:  Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"

The Presence Portal

Michael Brown
Michael Brown

From PART V:

9. Why is it that since completing The Presence Process we are more aware of the suffering in the world, and yet feel less compelled to do something about it?

When we live in a time-based paradigm, we are as aware of the suffering of the world, but this awareness is of a different frequency; it is driven by the reflections we witness of our own unresolved dramas, and therefore is inauthentic. When we select any individual waving a "Save the Planet!" banner at any peace march in the world, there is a high probability this individual is not in harmony with their parents, let alone themselves. It is hypocritical for us to attempt to save another, let alone a whole planet, when we are perceptually trapped in hellish circumstances.

Knowingness

The nature of Consciousness is knowing or Knowingness.

It is the knowing of what is known, the experiencing of what is experienced, the perceiving of what is perceived. When Consciousness knows anything it knows itself. Consciousness is the Knowingness in every experience, and therefore it knows itself in every experience, simply because it is itself. Consciousness is the knowing of itself. Consciousness does not have to do anything to know itself. Its being itself is its knowing itself. It always knows itself. The sun's nature is to illumine. Therefore, by its nature it illumines itself. 'Illumination' is what it is, not what it does. It does not need to illumine itself, because by definition it is always illumined. It is self-luminous.

Likewise Consciousness is Self-luminous. It is the light with which it sees itself.

Knowing is what Consciousness is, not what it does. Knowingness is the nature of Consciousness, therefore it knows itself in the knowing of anything.

Chapter 89

Progress in Spiritual Life

(Contiuation...)

Q:I can see the beauty and feel the blessedness of a life devoted to search for truth under a competent and loving teacher. Unfortunately, we have to return to England.

M:Distance does not matter. If your desires are strong and true, they will mould your life for their fulfillment. Sow you seed and leave it to the seasons.

Q:What are the signs of progress in spiritual life?

M:Freedom from anxiety; a sense of ease and joy; deep peace within and abundant energy without.

Q:How did you get it?

M:I found it all in the holy presence of my Guru -- I did nothing on my own. He told me to be quiet -- and I did it -- as much as I could.

Q:Is your presence as powerful as his?

M:How am I to know? For me -- his is the only presence. If you are with me, you are with him.
