Acceptance
"If you want to learn acceptance, then the next time you are caught out in the rain without a raincoat or umbrella, rather than run for shelter, allow yourself to get wet. You will be very aware of the resistance to getting wet, that instinctual urge to run for shelter, the sense of 'me' that wants to protect itself. This is what must be surrendered in order to stay out in the rain. When this resistance is surrendered, and you allow yourself to fully feel the experience of being soaked, then there is a sense of freedom from yourself that carries with it a sense of deep unfathomable peace. It has nothing to do with liking the rain or not liking the rain. Rather, it is letting go of the one that likes or doesn't like, the one that separates itself from the rain in the first place. And when you do that you are simply left with what is. There is no you and what is, there is simply what is. And the experience of what is is peace, is delight. It is completely open and vulnerable and complete in itself. If you apply this experience of being in the rain to any situation, any emotion, then there will be incredible freedom. It has nothing to do with the particular experience, rather it is about letting go of the one that separates itself from experience, letting go of the one that tries to control the experience. Because it is that separation that creates all conflict. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. November 21st Hope is a postponement of awakening Hope is a postponement of awakening. The body and mind projects a future story in which it is believed that you will be freer, more peaceful, or more content. This projection creates a vacuum in this moment, draining the natural energy that is available through presence. Hope is one of the great myths of spirituality. You may experience resistance to this message because hope provides perfect ego food. Embedded in hope is a story of getting better or becoming more fully yourself. This is attractive to the dream self. But the moment the mind and body projects this story of future happiness, it sustains the belief that you are not already there. The search for something more solidifies the lack within, which perpetuates the drive towards future, which in turn solidifies lack. This is the cycle of seeking. In seeing hope when it arises, there is the opportunity to see it for what it truly is. It is a postponement of life itself. Life has never been anywhere but right here in the space of the timeless. Future is merely a thought arising in this space. This seeing reveals that the entire search for something more is the problem, not the solution. When the illusion of hope is seen, notice that the space in which it arises is what you really are. Hope obscures this natural state, which is - by its very nature - already totally complete.

Chapter 4
Fact: Consciousness is the Infinite Itself
(Continuation...)
All that's important is that One which is conscious and has the capacity to voice-not what is voiced. Without the saying of "I," Consciousness has no focalization, but is pure, true Infinity. Why are You right here and now alive to what these pages say? It is Your Self, being alive to Itself alone, beholding Itself for what It truly is! There is no deadness of finite things, no dullness of ignore-ance, that which would ignore the pure vitality of the Aliveness You are.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion: Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"
The Presence Portal |
| | Michael Brown |
From PART V:
8. What other activities can we instill into our life experience to enhance our relationship with our Inner Presence?
(Continuation...)
Generally, any activity stripped bare of thinking activates present moment awareness. This means every moment of our waking life is an invitation to enter Presence, and hence an opportunity to deepen our relationship with our Inner Presence. Activities do exist that contain a definite propensity to activate doses of present moment awareness, like rock climbing, tightrope walking, live performance, skydiving, riding a roller coaster, and bungee jumping. However, whenever these activities become routine to the point we are able to ponder and reflect while experiencing them, they no longer serve this purpose. Walking around our neighbourhood with intent to seek out stillness, silence, and beautify activates present moment awareness, yet walking around the neighbourhood worrying about our finances does not. Paying attention to our food as we prepare and eat it activates present moment awareness, yet engaging in the exact same activity while moaning internally about those we are cooking for does not.

The Ease Of Being
(Continuation...)
It is only when the King reclaims his royal identity that he realises that although he thought, felt and behaved as though he were bound, in fact he was always free. He realises that his status as an ordinary person was self-imposed and imaginary, and that even when he was deeply involved with the traumas of being an ordinary person he was, nevertheless, always the King.
There was nothing that could be done or, more importantly, that needed to be done, to reclaim his birthright, other than simply to recognise it and to start behaving accordingly.
As the peasant, the King had no freedom other than to remember his true identity. As the King he always had complete freedom.

Chapter 89
Progress in Spiritual Life
(Contiuation...)
Q:I understand one must give up one's family and possessions to become a disciple.
M:It varies with the Guru. Some expect their mature disciples to become ascetics and recluses; some encourage family life and duties. Most of them consider a model family life more difficult than renunciation, suitable for a personality more mature and better balanced. At the early stages the discipline of monastic life may be advisable. Therefore, in the Hindu culture students up to the age of 25 are expected to live like monks -- in poverty, chastity and obedience -- to give them a chance to build a character able to meet the hardships and temptations of married life.
