States of Witnessing
"What your mind tells you about what is here and what is really here beyond mental perception are two completely different things. Thinking usually happens at such a speed that the reality you experience is not questioned. And what is the mind doing? It is defining, describing and judging and justifying those definitions, descriptions and judgments.
It is constantly creating and reinforcing a sense of "me" that is separate from everything else and thus there is conflict. But if you take a step back and observe thinking, observe the process of thoughts arising, then this whole mind perception begins to fall apart. At first, the idea of the thinker will disappear and you will see thoughts are arising by themselves. From here, all judgmental thoughts will stop arising. As you go deeper, all personal thoughts of "me" and everything in relation to this personal "me" disappears and there is an incredible sense of freedom. Then you enter dream states, visions, esoteric and subtle thinking that cannot be comprehended by the intellectual mind.
And beyond this is mental noise.
And beyond that mental noise is silence, a sense of nothingness, pure consciousness. The beauty of it is, the moment you begin observing the thinking instead of identifying with thoughts, that sense of stress and conflict considerably dissipates and there is incredible peace.
And with each level of witnessing you sink into, you let go of another subtler sense of self and this peace and bliss increases. Judgments stop, the bliss increases, the personal sense of "me" as you know yourself to be disappears and the bliss increases. You keep moving closer and closer to the essence of what is really here, to pure peace, pure consciousness and you become more and more free.
It starts with observation, with witnessing, but then what happens cannot be explained, you feel your way into it, you let yourself go into it. Kind of like when you go to sleep at night. You lie down and relax and then you let yourself go into sleep. You don't really know intellectually how it happens, because it happens beyond the perception of mind. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. Openness
Non-duality is experiential. It is not about conclusions, although conclusions naturally arise as a result of interpreting experiences. So if liberation, no self, no choice, or any other experience is happening, watch the mind return to make a conclusion about it. It wants to believe it "gets it." It wants to place the experience of life into a conceptual category and then preach to the others about the validity of its own conclusions. It brings the experiential nature of non-duality into a dualistic conclusion. When there is identification with that conclusion, the separate self is rearing its head once again under the guise of "enlightenment."
Throughout our lives, the mind analyzes and categorizes everything. From the time we are children until we die, it grasps for conceptual understanding. It wants to place life into neat little packages. But non-duality is not a neat little package. It blows open all packages. It is openness itself - the ongoing discovery of life as it unfolds in this timeless space.
As a sense of presence, no self, or no choice is realized, notice the mind's attempt to place the vast landscape of experience into a neat dualistic conclusion. Life is not a conclusion or concept. To even say, "It's all One" is a packaging of sorts. When this openness that you truly are remains open to what is happening and the mind is no longer fixating on its interpretations, liberation is realized.

Chapter 4
Fact: Consciousness is the Infinite Itself
(Continuation...)
[That thing is found nowhere else. As Awareness, I Am always unbound-greater than that thing, rather than I being bound inside it. This never changes.]
At first it may seem I is in the head, in the body, when I is voiced, but it is the reverse. As "I" continues to softly be said, it is clear that the One saying I is not inside of, or bound by the body. Only when I is voiced does I seem localized in the head-but without the voicing, I have no localization. If the head were where I was, I would be found only there, in that one spot. That means Infinite-I would have to stop and have an end or border where the head ends. Yet Infinite-I have no end or stopping point; only a head appears to. As this One I Am is entirely infinite, borderless, how could I ever have gotten confined inside the borders of the three-dimensional body that is holding this book? I couldn't.

From PART V:
8. What other activities can we instill into our life experience to enhance our relationship with our Inner Presence?
(Continuation...)
We cannot determine what type of relationship we experience with our Inner Presence, because all of this is given. Our task is to lay a foundation for this relationship to be possible, and for it to bloom, not to attempt determining its parameters in any way. We accomplish this best by becoming as present in our life experience as possible.

The Ease Of Being
(Continuation...)
[From time to time old layers of identification with the body/mind reappear. However, they lose their separating power and with it their capacity to induce suffering.]
Those that are necessary for the functioning of everyday life continue as and when they are needed. Those that are not functional drop away naturally and more and more we find ourselves in our natural condition. This is not an extraordinary state. It is simple and natural, and may even dawn on us without the mind being aware of anything special. In place of the subtle sense of lack that pervaded our thoughts, feelings and activities in the past, a sense of well-being and ease begins to shine in the background of our lives and to overflow into the foreground of our activities and relationships.

Chapter 89
Progress in Spiritual Life
Questioner:We are two girls from England, visiting India. We know little about Yoga and we are here because we were told that spiritual teachers play an important role in Indian life.
Maharaj:You are welcome. There is nothing new you will find here. The work we are doing is timeless. It was the same ten thousand years ago. Centuries roll on, but the human problem does not change -- the problem of suffering and the ending of suffering.
