3 Steps to Awakening

"This experience
of separation and stress,
of being a person
separate from everything else
is something you are doing.

You are contracting
moment to moment
into identifying with thinking,
identifying with the body,
identifying with the idea of
who you think yourself to be
and how life is supposed to be.

And this contraction
blocks you from experiencing
your true nature of peace.

So then
how do you stop
this contraction?
How do you stop
creating this suffering?

Lets put it in 3 parts:

The first is practice:
spending time every day
actively practicing
a meditation technique.

The main reason for this
is to focus your mind;
to focus your attention.

With focused attention,
awareness begins to grow
and you begin to experience
life beyond the confines
of the intellectual and emotional mind.

Second is to immerse yourself in Shakti.
Whether it is sitting with an
enlightened teacher
that radiates Shakti,
and/or meditating with
the Calling or Infinite Sky CDs,

this Shakti will awaken
you from the inside out,
giving you a direct experience of bliss
that is almost impossible
to experience on your own.

Third is to surrender,
to allow your experience
in this moment
to be exactly as it is
without trying to control it,
change it
or even identify with it.

To experience this moment directly,
without carrying your past
around with you and
believing yourself to be that.

Let go of the idea of yourself
and let your attention rest
in the sensations
that you feel in this moment
instead of perceiving
this moment through thinking.

If you do these three things
you will begin to feel alive in a way
you never did before,
you will begin to experience
your true nature as peace.

It is the difference between
thinking about bliss
and living as bliss itself.

Blessings,

Kip"

Please Note:

My main teaching
is for you to immerse yourself
in Kundalini Shakti -
the energy one naturally
radiates in the highest states
of enlightenment.

I have found a way to turn
Kundalini Shakti into sound
So simply by listening to meditation music
you effortlessly awaken
to your natural state of unconditional
peace, bliss and freedom.

[The other movement is an egoic reaction and let's just see which one predominates.]

So far, no matter whether you agree with what the politicians have done, in between the event and now, it could have been even more unconscious.  There could have been a totally unconscious reaction on the part of...There was not a totally...even if you don't agree with what they've done...there was not a totally unconscious reaction.  And whether you like or dislike the president, there are two words that he said in his address to congress, five days afterwards, we were having the retreat then, "May God grant us wisdom."  That was a profound statement.  I don't know if he himself wrote it, but he said it.  (laughter)  And it was good that he said it.  He didn't say, "God grant us victory!"  He could have said that.

The child and the bug

(seeing through the story)

In yesterday's reflection, we spoke about the child and the bug.  As the child looks at the bug without the story, "I'm a child looking at a bug," the strict division between the child and the bug vanishes.  This is not to say that the apparent form of the child's body and the form of the bug's body disappear.  Oneness is not a seeing that everything is one homogenous thing without textures, lines, and surfaces.  The division vanishes because it is realized that, ultimately, thought is creating the division.

The concept "child" or "I" does not come into existence except through thought.  The concept "bug" does not arise until thought arises.  When the story "I'm a child looking at a bug" arises, separation arises with it.  The dualistic mind is placing a conceptual story on something that is happening in the actuality of now.

In looking without the veil of thought, the separation between these two things - the child and the bug - is seen to be illusory.  When this separation is seen through, there is only this looking.  The division disappears.

This is ultimately what "non-duality" is pointing to.  It is describing a way of being in which the stories we tell - which are always second hand accounts of what is actually happening in the space of now - are seen through.  When the stories are seen through, the divisions that arise with those stories are seen through.

Chapter 4

Fact:  Consciousness is the Infinite Itself

(Continuation...)

Infinite in its correct sense means no amount. It means no counting. Infinity means abandoning all finite form. Not only is infinity without physical size or length-It hasn't even a length in time. Infinite doesn't mean forever in time, but is the complete absence of time, because time, too, would be measurable. Infinity is not even a circle or endlessly repeating loop, for that, too, has form, an inside and outside.

Infinity has no form or limits-exactly as the Consciousness You now are has no form or limits. They are the same One.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion:  Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"

The Presence Portal

Michael Brown
Michael Brown

From PART V:

5. When we assist the body to heal itself by             exercising a proper lifestyle and nutritional habits, it does so in an order of a priority determined by the consciousness of the body. Is there also an unfolding priority in neutralizing our negative emotional charge?

The unsuccessful child-like approach to untangling the knot is the frustrating predicament we experience when we attempt to control our journey through The Presence Process. This is because our assumptions about ourselves cause us to work with what appears on the surface as the most obvious issue requiring attention. This is why traditional verbal-based therapy is doomed. Through experiencing an emotionally-based procedure we discover that our obvious issues are not a cause of anything, but an effect of something else we are unaware of. This is why, throughout The Presence Process, we are asked to accept that it is from what we do not know that our most powerful moments of growth arise, not from what we think we know.

The Ease Of Being

(Continuation...)

Returning to the identification of Consciousness with a fragment, there is a big difference between 'I am not the body' and 'I am not only the body.'

'I am not the body' is true in that it suggests that 'I,' Consciousness, am not the body if by 'body' we mean an object that is outside and separate from Consciousness.

However, once it has been understood that all objects are like waves within Consciousness, that Consciousness takes the shape of every appearance, then 'I,' Consciousness, am the body. When the body is present it is Consciousness itself that is taking the shape of the body.

Chapter 88

Knowledge by the Mind, is not True Knowledge

(Continuation...)

Q:Between the body and pure awareness stands the 'inner organ', antahkarana, the 'subtle body', the 'mental body', whatever the name. Just as a whirling mirror converts sunlight into a manifold pattern of streaks and colours, so does the subtle body convert the simple light of the shining Self into a diversified world. Thus I have understood your teaching. What I cannot grasp is how did this subtle body arise in the first instance?

M:It is created with the emergence of the 'I am' idea. The two are one.
