Breaking the Barrier

"One method of meditation
is to simply be vulnerable
to this moment.

To let go of
trying to justify
who you are and what
you know
and really allow
yourself to feel what is here.

This is difficult only
because of the mind.

The mind comes in
and already knows it;
agrees or disagrees with it,
has an opinion about it.

And it is not that you have
to get rid of that,
but rather to give up
taking a position in that,
in believing this is "me."

You have all of these
thoughts flowing.
It is not to stop the thoughts
or change the thoughts,
but rather to see
the thoughts are flowing.

To see thoughts are
arising by themselves.

You can step back
out of being this person
and watch all of these
processes happening
which make up the idea
of "me."

And you will see in this
that there is no set
singular "me"
but rather a whole bunch
of processes happening.

Thinking is happening,
sensations are happening,
breathing is happening.

The ego could really be said
to be that which grabs hold
of all of these processes happening
and claims "this is me."

And then there is something to justify,
there is something to defend.

There is a position made that says
"these thoughts are me,
this knowledge is mine"
and unconsciously there is so much
effort trying to maintain this idea,
this sense of being a person
separate from everything else.

And it is not to take a position
to say "I am not a separate person"
but rather to stop taking a position at all,
to stop justifying any sense of me
and simply feel what is here
without using the intellect
to interpret it, to label it,
or justify it in any way.

To be completely open
to what is really here in this moment
beyond thinking.

And then throughout the day
to become aware of all of the
ways you justify yourself
and to let go of that,
to be vulnerable to what is here
and what is happening
rather than trying to fight it,
trying to control it.

It will hurt in a way,
it will break your heart
to be so vulnerable
to life.

But once you do experience that
you will love that hurt,
you will miss it
if it is gone.

Because that hurt
really isn't a pain,
but rather an opening
into what is here.

By feeling this
you begin to break through
the barrier of this idea of "me"
and realize freedom.

You realize you exist
beyond all ideas of 'me'
as consciousness itself.

Blessings,

Kip"

[And then you jump.  And that was the most dreadful thing on one level - I'm not denying it on one level - It is dreadful to watch but if you have known death you don't know what happened to them in the last few seconds.]

The turnaround of death and a deeper realization of who you are beyond form.  So, this can...when death happens to you...but...this collective event...whenever death happens some, even those people that are not directly effected by it but are close to it, some of that redemptive dimension of death can be transmitted to them.

One seamless dance

In enlightenment pointers, you hear about a realization into your true nature as formlessness (sometimes described as silence, space, emptiness, consciousness, awareness, nothingness, or spirit). When thought looks for formlessness, it can't find it.  That is because thought is form.  Practices, inquiry, and a host of other methods tend to keep the mind lost in form.

Of course, enlightenment is not about stopping thought.  Only another thought would seek to do that.  Enlightenment is about seeing.  Seeing happens only now.  Every attempt to move into some future moment of seeing is actually just thought arising now.

Sit in your chair, walk around, or go outside.  It doesn't matter.  Just notice what is already here.  There is already space all around the body.  That same space is within the body.  You don't sense it?  It can't be found through thinking about it.  It is already here, before concepts or images about it arise.  Notice that silence is already here.  It gives birth to every sound.  You don't sense it?  Silence can't be found through thought.  Stop looking there.

You are the conceptual movement of mind known as me that believes it must do something to realize true nature.  But in seeing what is already here, true nature is revealed effortlessly.  True nature is this movement of form (i.e., thought, objects, time, sound) dancing with this formlessness (i.e., space, awareness, silence).  True nature is this one seamless dance happening now.

Chapter 4

Fact:  Consciousness is the Infinite Itself

(Continuation...)

More importantly, this very Consciousness, as It is being aware right here, now, is the only Infinite there is!

The staggering Truth is that never, ever is there another Infinite- whether a "Divine Infinite" or any other kind of Infinite-off somewhere else, apart from this very Consciousness. There never has been. This Consciousness is the only Infinite there is.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion:  Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"

The Presence Portal

From PART V: 3.

Why is it necessary to continue our breathing        practice after Session 10?

(Continuation...)

The moment our life experience begins feeling heavier, and we put two and two together and realize we are not attending to our breathing, we re-enter our routine (our route in). The moment we recommence the breathing practice it is as though a veil is lifted and light comes pouring through our endeavours. Consequently, we comprehend the power of this simple present moment awareness activator. In this way these unscheduled breaks in our daily breathing routine come to show us the power of the practice.Even though we complete The Presence Process, it may still be challenging for some of us to comprehend what is being accomplished when we attend to our 15 minutes breathing twice a day. Sometimes the best way to integrate what the breathing accomplishes is by not attending to it for about a week or two. Sometimes, despite our intent to keep up with our practice, our Inner Presence facilitates us into entering this experience so we achieve this level of integration. When we cease our practice for a while, we notice that the resonance of our life experience changes; it is heavier, more unconscious, and decidedly less joyful. We also forget to wield our perceptual tools, we forget they even exist, and consequently re-enter reactive behavior. The majority of souls on earth operate in a time-based paradigm; when we do not maintain a frequency enabling us to ride above these unconscious waves, the current of the majority drags us under again. We remain vulnerable to these collective currents until we accumulate a powerful level of present moment awareness. We remain vulnerable until we activate emotional body awareness.

The Ease Of Being

Consciousness is one with every object. In fact, in the ultimate analysis, there are no objects. There is only Consciousness taking the shape of our experience from moment to moment.

The identity of an object is the identity of Consciousness.

An object could not appear if it were not one with Consciousness. Consciousness is every appearance, but that does not mean that Consciousness is limited to that appearance.

Chapter 87

Keep the Mind Silent And You Shall Discover

(Continuation...)

Q: Why then all these exhortations to practice Yoga and seek reality? They make me feel empowered and responsible, while in fact it is time that does all.

M: This is the end of Yoga -- to realize independence. All that happens, happens in and to the mind, not to the source of the 'I am'. Once you realize that all happens by itself, (call it destiny, or the will of God or mere accident), you remain as witness only, understanding and enjoying, but not perturbed.
