Realizing the Nameless
"Someone sent me a beautiful email recently.
They said they were searching for something that they did not feel really had a name. Everyone is really looking for that same thing. That mystery which is fulfilment. But somewhere along the line most get caught up in defining it.
In calling it enlightenment or kundalini or stillness or no mind. And in naming it, you lose what you were looking for, you create a 'something' on top of what you were seeking in the first place. A something that is impossible to attain because it only exists in your idea of it. And then you get caught up in ideas, in knowledge, in spiritual quotes and inspirations. By trying to figure it out, you get further and further away from what you were seeking in the first place. But if you can just surrender back into not knowing, to observing & feeling this moment instead of interpreting,
then like a black hole that bliss that has no name drinks up all of the words, all of the noise.
It eats it all up until there is nothing left but that which cannot be defined.
And then that bliss is experienced in everything. Just by walking, just by breathing.
Breathing alone can be the most extraordinary experience if there is no mind there to interpret it. But it takes practice, it takes meditation By immersing yourself in shakti and meditation every day, everything becomes clear. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. Tape 5 (Continuation...)
[And perhaps on the other side of that fragility, if that's the right word, for all forms, perhaps hides something is concealed that is the redemptive dimension of death.]
You may have read many accounts of people who have got close to death, who have faced death. Many of them speak of sudden shift that they encountered in the last few seconds. They didn't actually die but they thought they would they thought for sure it was going to happen, the accident whatever it was. The last few seconds when death seemed unavoidable, you can read hundreds, thousands of accounts of that, they said at the last few seconds a sudden shift happened and suddenly, "I found myself deeply at peace and there was great serenity and aliveness and I can't explain why." Some of these people who have face death and escaped death have become transformed completely after that death experience. They realized something.

When the two become one
We come to the spiritual search because a lot of thinking is happening. The mind is lost in the story of me and everything that is happening to me. It can be confusing and painful. Then a spiritual teaching points us to an inner non-conceptual awareness. An incredible peace and freedom is realized when there is a shift from attachment to everything to a realization of pure awareness or emptiness.
We can get stuck in pure awareness though. We can find ourselves in the realization that nothing is happening. We realize a beautiful nothingness. And yet . . . isn't that just another point of reference, another dualistic point which is opposite of the point of reference of everything? If we identify too strongly with the notion of being no self or pure awareness, we are stuck again. The dualistic mind has found another position. It is dwelling in the idea of absence.
Liberation is no longer mentally fixating on one idea within a set of polar opposites: non-conceptual awareness v. concepts, emptiness v. form, nothing v. everything. This is when thought and awareness dance together in one seamless dance, when there is no preference for either. Nothing is seen to be appearing as everything. This is when there is a collision of emptiness and form, of nothing and everything, and all that is left is the love and mystery of what is.

Chapter 4
Fact: Consciousness is the Infinite Itself
(Continuation...)
Awareness never switches places with such things. One never would say, "I am that thing." At most, all one could say is, "I appear to be aware of that thing."
What never changes is that all finite, observable qualities always are connected with the things. Always, it would be the thing, the form one appears to be aware of, that is finite.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion: Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"
The Presence Portal |
| | Michael Brown |
From PART V: 3. Why is it necessary to continue our breathing practice after Session 10? It is recommended we keep connecting our breathing twice a day for at least 15 minutes, for three to six months after completing The Presence Process. We are encouraged to embrace this practice as part of the rock upon which we build our inner pathway towards activating an experiential awareness of what Life is. At some point we will let it go, because although breath connects us to Life, Life is beyond the necessity for breath.

The Choice Of Freedom
(Continuation...)
[Everything causes everything. The totality causes the totality at every moment.]
Or we can say that everything arises spontaneously out of Consciousness and that Consciousness is therefore its sole and ultimate cause. Both of these positions can be said to be true of our actual experience. In fact these two possibilities amount to the same thing, because the totality in the first position turns out, on further investigation, to be identical to Consciousness in the second position.

Chapter 87
Keep the Mind Silent And You Shall Discover
(Continuation...)
M: [What you claim exists outside conscious experience is inferred.]
Q: It may be inferred and yet it is more real than the sensory.
M: Be careful. The moment you start talking you create a verbal universe, a universe of words, ideas, concepts and abstractions, interwoven and inter-dependent, most wonderfully generating, supporting and explaining each other and yet all without essence or substance, mere creations of the mind. Words create words, reality is silent.
