Realizing the Nameless
"Someone sent me a beautiful email recently.
They said they were searching for something that they did not feel really had a name. Everyone is really looking for that same thing. That mystery which is fulfilment. But somewhere along the line most get caught up in defining it.
In calling it enlightenment or kundalini or stillness or no mind. And in naming it, you lose what you were looking for, you create a 'something' on top of what you were seeking in the first place. A something that is impossible to attain because it only exists in your idea of it. And then you get caught up in ideas, in knowledge, in spiritual quotes and inspirations. By trying to figure it out, you get further and further away from what you were seeking in the first place. But if you can just surrender back into not knowing, to observing & feeling this moment instead of interpreting,
then like a black hole that bliss that has no name drinks up all of the words, all of the noise.
It eats it all up until there is nothing left but that which cannot be defined.
And then that bliss is experienced in everything. Just by walking, just by breathing.
Breathing alone can be the most extraordinary experience if there is no mind there to interpret it. But it takes practice, it takes meditation By immersing yourself in shakti and meditation every day, everything becomes clear. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. Tape 5 (Continuation...) [But I would make a statement that some of you would believe in and others would say, "Well, I'm not sure if that's true" and somebody else would say, "How do you know that's true?" and somebody else would say, "Oh, it's good to know that."]
So, I'm not saying that. I'm saying, sooner or later each one of us...and sometimes it comes through accident and sometimes it comes through violence, it can come through illness, it can come through old age, it can come through slipping on a banana skin and die. It could happen. Facing the fact of death, the fragility of all forms including this physical form and not running away from that fact.

The dream self is a virtual reality
The dream self is like a conceptual overlay placed on reality. Thought interprets reality through concepts, most of which act to confirm the central me concept. "I" exist only in relation to the "other" thing, person, event, etc.
The dream self is a conditioned existence. In some computer games, participants wear stereoscopic goggles that produce images of a virtual reality. Similarly, in the dream of self, conditioning creates a virtual reality that says: "This is a chair" or "My husband should listen more." These are thought-based interpretations of reality based on memory. The dream self is essentially the past coming to meet the reality of now.
When the past (memory) meets the present, life feels dead. Thought gives the false impression that you can know life by labeling and judging it. But life is not conceptual. It is an actuality. The depth and miracle of life is veiled when life is lived only through the goggles of the dream self, the playing of one mental image after another.
Liberation is like taking the goggles off. It is seeing reality the way it is, including the thoughts that are arising. Life is not conceptual. When this is seen, what is left is a love of reality. This love is not dependent on thought. For example, your love for your husband has nothing to do with whether he does what you "think" he should do. This is unconditional love.

Chapter 4
Fact: Consciousness is the Infinite Itself
(Continuation...)
Thoughts, while fleeting, also are observable entities. The thought of a sunrise would have a form quite different from the thought of what was eaten for dinner last night. Various thought forms would be mental images, memories, concepts and ideas; that which is seen in the "mind's eye." Just as physical objects are not One's Self as pure Consciousness, neither are sensations, emotions and thoughts. They are what one seems to have; not what one is. They are never "I." If an emotion or thought were the same as you, that is how you always would be; they wouldn't seem to change, come and go; but they do.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion: Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"
The Presence Portal |
| | Michael Brown |
From PART V: 2. (Continuation...) Being able to learn the art of facilitating ourselves is one of the opportunities offered by our experiential journey through The Presence Process. Then, when we are brave enough, we can ask our Inner Presence to manifest an outer facilitator to reflect what we cannot yet bear to perceive about ourselves. When we are blessed with the company of a being like this, and when we overcome the ordeal of them showing us our fear, only then may we consider taking on the task of being an authentic facilitator for another. |

The Choice Of Freedom
(Continuation...)
[If all the minds, bodies and worlds that exist are interconnected in one seamless system, how could the Consciousness, which is considered in scientific materialism to be a by-product of this system, itself be individual and separate?]
And if there is no separate independent Consciousness, how can there be a separate, independent thinker, chooser, doer, enjoyer, experiencer? Our experience is one of a stream of appearances in Consciousness. These events are thoughts, feelings, sensations and perceptions, one following another... A, B, C, D, E... Each is utterly unique and each disappears absolutely before the next arises.

Chapter 86
The Unknown is the Home of the Real
(Continuation...)
Q: How does one attend to the unconscious?
M: Keep the 'I am' in the focus of awareness, remember that you are, watch yourself ceaselessly and the unconscious will flow into the conscious without any special effort on your part.
Wrong desires and fears, false ideas, social inhibitions are blocking and preventing its free interplay with the conscious.
Once free to mingle, the two become one and the one becomes all.
The person merges into the witness, the witness into awareness, awareness into pure being, yet identity is not lost, only its limitations are lost.
It is transfigured, and becomes the real Self, the sadguru, the eternal friend and guide. You cannot approach it in worship.
No external activity can reach the inner self; worship and prayers remain on the surface only; to go deeper meditation is essential, the striving to go beyond the states of sleep, dream and waking.
In the beginning the attempts are irregular, then they recur more often, become regular, then continuous and intense, until all obstacles are conquered.

 From Above...
(Jordan highlights or comments on quotes from the teachings above.) |
|
Michael Brown: "Being able to learn the art of facilitating ourselves is one of the opportunities offered by our experiential journey through The Presence Process."
Jordan: This is true.
+++++
Nisargadatta: Keep the 'I am' in the focus of awareness, remember that you are, watch yourself ceaselessly and the unconscious will flow into the conscious without any special effort on your part.
Jordan: Gotta be mindful of this one...for the rest of your/my apparent life. I've been doing this, as best I can, for a few years now and I would say I am much less reactive. Of course, I'm getting older which probably also helps.
