Relax Into This Moment
"Relax into this moment. Not your idea of this moment but into feeling what is here beyond thinking. Keep your body still and really feel the sensation of being alive in this moment.
Let go of all ideas of what it might feel like or what you know it feels like and actually experience fresh and new the feeling of being alive in this very moment. Allow thinking to be as it is. There is no pushing anything away, but rather just relax into what is here without interpretation. You can see these two different experiences, the experience of this moment interpreted by your mind and the experience of this moment without interpretation but directly felt, directly experienced free from the mind. If you can really give your attention to feeling what is here beyond the thinking then you will begin to awaken to your natural state of peace, bliss and love.
You will begin to feel the difference between the controlled, separate and stressful experience of the mind, and the natural experience of freedom expressed as being alive in this moment. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. Tape 5 (Continuation...)
Q: I have a very practical question. I find myself with all the events of September 11th in turmoil and so it's either it seems...it's all very seductive. I find myself alternating between a lot of different states and even if I can while I'm meditating or whatever find that place of peace with it, then I go to catastrophizing and a ...really everywhere. So, I could use some help.
ET: What do you mean by catastrophizing, you project possible events in your mind, further events? Like that?
Q: Yeah, and it's every enticing, in other words, um, part of my job, it involves part of my work with people, as well. Trying to help them, protect them. But I can feel that a,...I use the spiritual tools that I have to try and be at peace with it but it's very inconsistent.
ET: Yes. So its...there's turmoil around it when you think about it. Well, that applies to many people They also experience that. It applied even more strongly, we had the first retreat a few days afterward, and that we very close to New York City. In New York state. We had a one week retreat with 350 people, just after the events and many people were in turmoil. As the events were still closer then. And even now, many people still are.

The simplicity of 'This'
In the search for something more than this moment, the simplicity of This is missed completely. Look around. Sense the being - the felt oneness with life. Thoughts may be happening. Perhaps a feeling of anxiety briefly arises and falls in awareness as you read this reflection. Maybe there is the sound of a dog barking, a clock ticking, or a child laughing in the other room. That is all that is happening. Isn't it beautifully simple? Spiritual awakening is that simple. It is to realize This fully and to allow the search for something more than This to die naturally in that seeing.
Isn't the search for something more a dream of thought arising now? Can you grab the future and control it from where you are sitting now? You cannot touch the future because it is nothing more than presently arising thought. When this is seen fully, the search is seen to be an illusion.
How can you need something other than ėThis?' This is precious. This is all there is. Spiritual awakening is about the truth. The truth is that This is life, happening now. This is it. It is that simple. This is when whatever is presently happening - whether it is the sound of dishes being washed or a plane flying over heard - is the most fascinating thing because it is all that is happening. It is truth.

Chapter 4 FACT: CONSCIOUSNESS IS THE INFINITE ITSELF (Continuation...)
What happens when you just plain make a little effort to pull the whole thing apart and look at it intelligently? Take another look at the difference between pure Consciousness Itself, and the many things it appears you are conscious of. It sounds funny, but every single thing one appears to be conscious of, or observe, in daily experience is just that, observable. According to the way the five senses, or the so-called human "mind" seems to work, every single thing it supposedly would sense or experience has some observable qualities. It doesn't matter if it's something seen visually, an item that's touched or felt, a sound that's heard, a smell, a taste-or even a thought or an emotion. Everything the human "mind" claims to experience always has a noticeable, observable form.

(Continuation...)
The Choice Of Freedom
(Continuation...)
Every experience arises spontaneously out of the absolute freedom of Consciousness at every moment, and in that sense Consciousness is free to take any form it chooses, out of an infinity of possibilities. Every apparent choice is an expression of the absolute freedom of Consciousness. The sense of freedom and choice that we feel is an intuition of the innate freedom of Consciousness which, at some level, we know to be our own.

Chapter 86
The Unknown is the Home of the Real
(Continuation...)
Q: What do I gain by learning to use my mind?
M: You gain freedom from desire and fear, which are entirely due to wrong uses of the mind. Mere mental knowledge is not enough. The known is accidental, the unknown is the home of the real. To live in the known is bondage, to live in the unknown is liberation.
