How to Deal With Upheaval

"First, realize
that someone or something
is not making you feel this way.

You are feeling this way
out of a reaction
to what is happening.
Blaming only keeps
you unconscious.

Second,
be honest and
accept what you feel,
this is most important.

Don't try and create
"positive emotions."
This is just the ego
trying to impose something
it thinks should be here
on top of what is really here.

You have to really
allow yourself to feel
what is honestly here and accept it.

Perhaps at first what you feel
will go and you will find
a whole new set of thoughts
and feelings underneath it.

Such as if you feel angry
at someone for treating
you a certain way,

after allowing that anger
you may realize that
the anger was there
because you did not want
to accept the feelings
of rejection
and loneliness
that were really there.

So allow yourself to feel that,
without trying to change it,
get rid of it, figure it out,
understand it, even own it.

Just allow yourself to feel
what is here as sensation.

Accept that this is
what simply is
in this moment.

There is no doing involved
it is simply what is here.

If you do this,
you will instantly feel peace.
The moment you accept
and allow yourself to experience
even the first emotion,
there is peace.

And as you allow,
and feel what is here,
ultimately what you will find
that is here is sensation,
the sensation of energy moving,
and that is bliss,
that is love.

So you see
what you are really doing
through surrender and feeling
is moving beyond the mind,
moving beyond
the thinking and the emotions
to what is really here,
to what is here before
the mind labels it and judges it.

You will feel humbled
by what is here,
you will feel completely
vulnerable to what is here,

but in this way,
you awaken to peace,
you awaken to love;
not as something
that you try to do,
but you awaken to
what is always already here.

Then you will experience
everything as the same bliss.
You will feel the bliss in resentment,
the bliss in rejection,
the bliss in loneliness,
the bliss in happiness.
It is all the same bliss.

It is all the same flow
of energy.

It is simply a matter of
truly allowing yourself
to feel what is here
without trying to change it
in any way.

Blessings,

Kip"

[The tree is aligned...consciousness expresses itself through this form.  It takes on the form of the tree.]

It's not that the tree says, now should I grow a branch that way and then, the leaves, where should I put the leaves and what kind of leaves do I want?

It is...it happens.

In the same way but with a much added dimension of depth knowing it happens through humans the creation will not come out of the egoic need for anything.

Awareness and thought

It can be incredibly liberating to realize that you are not thought.  All 'your' life, you believed every thought racing through the thought stream in the mind.  Then you hear a teacher that points you to pure awareness prior to thought.  From that pointing, there can be a freeing realization that thought is not who you are.  It merely arises and falls within who you are.

But liberation invites a deeper realization than mere identification as awareness.  Notice that the distinction between thought and awareness is a thought-created division.  Is there really something here called awareness totally separate from something else called "thought?"  Only thought creates that rigid division.  Until thought rises up to make that distinction, there is only This - One Life happening now as one continuous flow.

Although realizing that you are pure awareness can be liberating, it can also trap thought into searching for a purer and purer state of awareness - a state that is free of thought.  But only thought would seek to get rid of thought.  Chasing a deeper state of awareness is a thought-driven search.

In the realization that all distinctions are illusory, including the division between awareness and thought, liberation arises.  Life lives itself - simply, vibrantly, lovingly, spontaneously and effortlessly.  Everything is allowed to be just the way it is, including thought.

Chapter 12

FACT: CONSCIOUSNESS

IS WHAT THE PRESENT IS

(Continuation...)

Look again. Each moment some thing is sensed, even the body itself, there seems to be a visual sight or image of it, a tactile feeling, and perhaps other sensations. Those particular sensations are constantly changing and passing on, never to return again. It seems each sensation is instantly replaced by another new visual or tactile sensation, and another, and another, non-stop. Like the moving frames of film in a movie, the specific image and tactile feeling of the body from a few seconds ago are gone-already having been replaced by the fl eeting image and touch of the body that is experienced at this moment in passing time, and on and on. In essence, all sensing of "body" would be a state of vibration, always moving on in time. All of it always is fl eeting, passing away, and not being present-or being "not." The entirety of all sensory experience, including the very sensing of the "body" itself, would be just so much non-presence.

From PART V: 2.

(Continuation...)

This declaration tells us the personality manufactured for Jesus by our traditional Christian religion, that he was a nice person, is inaccurate and misguiding. It is a make-believe saintly mask that makes it impossible for any congregation member to move through the stages of emotional growth leading to authenticity. Jesus as The Christ was not a nice person; He was a real person as much as He was nothing and nobody. This is why He could charge into a temple, madly cracking a whip, shouting and screaming like a crazed lunatic, overturning tables, and chasing out the money-lenders. In that moment He was not angry, but He was anger. Nor was He the slightest bit concerned about His personal reputation; He was mirroring the hidden fear of the money-lenders and the suppressed rage of those whom they abused. He was allowing Himself to be possessed by what they were hiding within themselves.

Peace And Happiness Are Inherent In Consciousness

(Continuation...)

What governs the type of object in which we search for Happiness will depend on the objects that, in the past, immediately preceded the non-objective experience of Happiness.

Unlike Happiness itself, these objects can be remembered and so we try to reproduce them in the hopes that they will deliver the same Happiness.

Once this is clearly seen, the nature of desire changes radically. An object is no longer desired in order to produce Happiness but rather to express it.

Once desire is liberated from the requirement to produce Happiness, it does not disappear. It is simply liberated from the confines of serving a non-existent entity.

Desire as such is experienced as energy, as life. It is already its own fulfilment.

Chapter 86

The Unknown is the Home of the Real

(Continuation...)

Q:  If I am not a person, then what am I?

M:Wet cloth looks, feels, smells differently as long as it is wet. When dry it is again the normal cloth. Water has left it and who can make out that it was wet? Your real nature is not like what you appear to be. Give up the idea of being a person, that is all. You need not become what you are anyhow. There is the identity of what you are and there is the person superimposed on it. All you know is the person, the identity -- which is not a person -- you do not know, for you never doubted, never asked yourself the crucial question -- 'Who am I'. The identity is the witness of the person and sadhana consists in shifting the emphasis from the superficial and changeful person to the immutable and ever-present witness.
