How to Deal With Upheaval

"First, realize
that someone or something
is not making you feel this way.

You are feeling this way
out of a reaction
to what is happening.
Blaming only keeps
you unconscious.

Second,
be honest and
accept what you feel,
this is most important.

Don't try and create
"positive emotions."
This is just the ego
trying to impose something
it thinks should be here
on top of what is really here.

You have to really
allow yourself to feel
what is honestly here and accept it.

Perhaps at first what you feel
will go and you will find
a whole new set of thoughts
and feelings underneath it.

Such as if you feel angry
at someone for treating
you a certain way,

after allowing that anger
you may realize that
the anger was there
because you did not want
to accept the feelings
of rejection
and loneliness
that were really there.

So allow yourself to feel that,
without trying to change it,
get rid of it, figure it out,
understand it, even own it.

Just allow yourself to feel
what is here as sensation.

Accept that this is
what simply is
in this moment.

There is no doing involved
it is simply what is here.

If you do this,
you will instantly feel peace.
The moment you accept
and allow yourself to experience
even the first emotion,
there is peace.

And as you allow,
and feel what is here,
ultimately what you will find
that is here is sensation,
the sensation of energy moving,
and that is bliss,
that is love.

So you see
what you are really doing
through surrender and feeling
is moving beyond the mind,
moving beyond
the thinking and the emotions
to what is really here,
to what is here before
the mind labels it and judges it.

You will feel humbled
by what is here,
you will feel completely
vulnerable to what is here,

but in this way,
you awaken to peace,
you awaken to love;
not as something
that you try to do,
but you awaken to
what is always already here.

Then you will experience
everything as the same bliss.
You will feel the bliss in resentment,
the bliss in rejection,
the bliss in loneliness,
the bliss in happiness.
It is all the same bliss.

It is all the same flow
of energy.

It is simply a matter of
truly allowing yourself
to feel what is here
without trying to change it
in any way.

Blessings,

Kip"

And in most churches they don't know the depth of the meaning when Jesus says, "Deny thyself.  Don't know how they interpret it but the depth of that utterance is not recognized by most churches.  It's all there, oh.

Chasing awareness

The word awareness is sometimes mistakenly associated with a state found in time.  This is the "I got it/I lost it" syndrome.  The "I got it" sense happens when there is pure awareness without much conceptualization (i.e., "I am present").  The "I lost it" sense occurs when there is the experience of being lost in thought or emotion (i.e., "I am not present").  This can create a cycle in which you are chasing the state of awareness and trying to quiet thought and emotion.  This is still control and tends to keep the search going as you continuously fuel the idea that there is some state that you must find, maintain, or recreate.

Instead of treating awareness as a state that can be found or lost in time, notice the timeless opening in which all states happen.  Temporary states of thinking and not thinking, feeling and not feeling, and seeing and not seeing arise and fall within that opening.  The opening does not come and go.

In noticing that your true nature is that opening, the movement of chasing states and the notions of "I got it/I lost it" tend to relax naturally.  In this opening, anything can happen.  There is no "you" there resisting or controlling or trying to maintain or recreate anything that comes through the opening.  There is only the opening and whatever is coming through it.

Chapter 12

FACT: CONSCIOUSNESS

IS WHAT THE PRESENT IS

(Continuation...)

Who would ever try to hold back the Present, or keep It from being completely present? Wouldn't it be the most impossible thing to try? Yet that is exactly what one is attempting when clinging to mental worries about past or future. It is the pure vitality of One's Presently Alive Being that such worrying would try to work against and put aside. It is doomed to futility because all that truly can be present, forever, is the Aliveness I Presently Am, this changeless, immovable All-Inclusive Presence.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion:  Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"

The Presence Portal

From PART V: 2.

(Continuation...)

In our minds we automatically associate the function of a facilitator with what we already know of the role of therapists and councilors, combined with the behavior we witness in therapeutic healers. Therefore, the immediate assumption is that a facilitator is someone who is nice, who makes us feel comfortable and safe, etc. Or, that they are someone who gives us a secure environment in which to express ourselves. This is correct; they do serve this purpose, but this is only part of the story. This is the part of the story we focus on when we declare we want to be a facilitator, or to be facilitated. Aside from the propensity for gentleness and kindness, an authentic facilitator is also required to be rude, insensitive, needy, devious, or seductive; to reflect whatever dysfunctional behavior we are hiding from ourselves. The question is: How many of us are detached enough from the importance of our reputations that we are willing to deface ourselves by portraying negative behavior patterns for the benefit of another?

Peace And Happiness Are Inherent In Consciousness

(Continuation...)

As Consciousness is by nature conscious, it could be said that Happiness is the experience of Consciousness knowing itself knowingly.

It is the experience that is revealed every time a desire comes to an end. Desire is agitation and Happiness is the ever-present background of all states that is revealed when this agitation ceases.

Chapter 85

'I am': The Foundation of all Experience

(Continuation...)

Q: If I have to go beyond myself, why did I get the 'I am' idea in the first instance?

M: The mind needs a centre to draw a circle. The circle may grow bigger and with every increase there will be a change in the sense 'I am'. A man who took himself in hand, a Yogi, will draw a spiral, yet the centre will remain, however vast the spiral. A day comes when the entire enterprise is seen as false and given up. The central point is no more and the universe becomes the centre.

Michael Brown: "The question is: How many of us are detached enough from the importance of our reputations that we are willing to deface ourselves by portraying negative behavior patterns for the benefit of another?"

Jordan:  This has a great potential for misuse.

Rupert Spira:  "It is the experience that is revealed every time a desire comes to an end."

Jordan:  Adyashanti says something like happiness doesn't come from getting what you want, it comes from not wanting it anymore once you get it.
