How to Deal With Upheaval

"First, realize
that someone or something
is not making you feel this way.

You are feeling this way
out of a reaction
to what is happening.
Blaming only keeps
you unconscious.

Second,
be honest and
accept what you feel,
this is most important.

Don't try and create
"positive emotions."
This is just the ego
trying to impose something
it thinks should be here
on top of what is really here.

You have to really
allow yourself to feel
what is honestly here and accept it.

Perhaps at first what you feel
will go and you will find
a whole new set of thoughts
and feelings underneath it.

Such as if you feel angry
at someone for treating
you a certain way,

after allowing that anger
you may realize that
the anger was there
because you did not want
to accept the feelings
of rejection
and loneliness
that were really there.

So allow yourself to feel that,
without trying to change it,
get rid of it, figure it out,
understand it, even own it.

Just allow yourself to feel
what is here as sensation.

Accept that this is
what simply is
in this moment.

There is no doing involved
it is simply what is here.

If you do this,
you will instantly feel peace.
The moment you accept
and allow yourself to experience
even the first emotion,
there is peace.

And as you allow,
and feel what is here,
ultimately what you will find
that is here is sensation,
the sensation of energy moving,
and that is bliss,
that is love.

So you see
what you are really doing
through surrender and feeling
is moving beyond the mind,
moving beyond
the thinking and the emotions
to what is really here,
to what is here before
the mind labels it and judges it.

You will feel humbled
by what is here,
you will feel completely
vulnerable to what is here,

but in this way,
you awaken to peace,
you awaken to love;
not as something
that you try to do,
but you awaken to
what is always already here.

Then you will experience
everything as the same bliss.
You will feel the bliss in resentment,
the bliss in rejection,
the bliss in loneliness,
the bliss in happiness.
It is all the same bliss.

It is all the same flow
of energy.

It is simply a matter of
truly allowing yourself
to feel what is here
without trying to change it
in any way.

Blessings,

Kip"

Tape 5

(Continuation...)

Not long after the transformation happened when the soap bubble of the self burst (his awakening as described in The Power of Now), I read those lines in the New Testament, "Deny thyself."

And at the same time I was also reading certain Buddhist texts with the same characteristics, anatta (non-self),

No self and any phenomenon - the illusion of self.

Deny thyself.

And then I remembered that night when I was in bed and the thought went through my head, "I can't live with myself anymore."

No self, deny thyself, can't live with myself, the illusion of self, separate selfhood.

Amazing to see the truth everywhere suddenly.

Yes, yes there it is.

Liberation

If unconditioned presence is what you really are, does this mean that you must seek some state in which you are totally calm and aware of everything?  No.  This is not about reaching any state or experience.  Everything - every state, experience, thought, emotion, and reaction - arises from and falls back into that unconditioned presence.

The word liberation points to a shift in which life is simply happening and there is no self trying to control it.  This includes not trying to control states, experiences, thoughts, or emotions.

There can even be a tendency to get stuck in awareness, believing that you are supposed to be in a state in which you are aware of everything.  Is that even possible?  Isn't it still control?

Liberation is childlike.  It is life living itself in whatever way it happens.  It is life being calm.  Life being obnoxious.  Life being quiet.  Life being loud.  Life being aware.  Life being unaware.  "You" are the unconditioned presence through which all of that happens.

When everything is allowed through that presence without resistance, the self that is trying to control or maintain states, experiences, thoughts, and emotions is seen to be an illusion.  This seeing brings a natural equanimity, peace, joy, and love.  But those attributes are not in any way contrived or brought about by a person's effort.  This shift happens only when the self trying to   manipulate the experience of living is seen through.

Chapter 12

FACT: CONSCIOUSNESS

IS WHAT THE PRESENT IS

(Continuation...)

Be the fresh, new Feeling that Aliveness is, as It is just now presently being.

There isn't this One Present Aliveness I Am and another I. My Consciousness' endlessly present Vitality is the only I there is. I have no sludge of not-Present Life; no human thought in terms of past or future, and the emotional weight that would seem to go with it.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion:  Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"

The Presence Portal

Michael Brown
Michael Brown

From PART V: 2.

(Continuation...)

The profound concept of being facilitated by someone who is of themselves being nothing or nobody, who is in a state of not-doing, may initially be challenging for us to grasp, because the world in general contains no context for what a real facilitator is or does. The intent of The Presence Process is to gradually open our mind and introduce us to the concept of authentic facilitation through the use of the expression "the messenger" and the experience of being "set up". It introduces us to a dimension of interaction between two human beings beyond our traditional understanding of therapists, councilors, and healers (TPP/Pg 142, 1st Edition). The moment we grasp the concept of messengers and of being set up, we are able to comprehend the role of an authentic facilitator.

Chapter 85

'I am': The Foundation of all Experience

(Continuation...)

Q: Please don't tell me that I am dreaming and that I will soon wake up. I wish it were so. But I am awake and in pain. You talk of a painless state, but you add that I cannot have it in my present condition. I feel lost.

M: Don't feel lost. I only say that to find the immutable and blissful you must give up your hold on the mutable and painful. You are concerned with your own happiness and I am telling you that there is no such thing. Happiness is never your own, it is where the 'I' is not. I do not say it is beyond your reach; you have only to reach out beyond yourself, and you will find it.

From Above...

(Jordan highlights or comments on quotes from the teachings above.)

Michael Brown: "The moment we grasp the concept of messengers and of being set up, we are able to comprehend the role of an authentic facilitator."

Jordan:  And then I think he would say that all of our experiences, people we meet and life situation are our facilitators.  Not sure if they'd all be considered authentic, but probably.
+++++

Rupert Spira:  "Most activities are governed by the desire for Happiness. Happiness is a non-objective experience. It is simply the presence of Consciousness."

Jordan:  I think he and Francis Lucille use the word 'happiness', others use the word 'joy.'  I suppose you could use the words 'tickled pink' as long as you distinguish between the feeling you get from being presence/consciousness and the feeling you get from winning the lottery.
