Coming Undone
"One of the reasons we sit to meditate is to strip away all of the things that distract us from this moment. All of the things that make us feel secure and in control. That makes us feel were are getting somewhere, we know something and we are moving in the right direction.
Because when we take away all the things and all the ways that empower this "me" that we have created ourselves to be, then what we are left with is something that is not secure, that is not in control.
Something that is not 'together,' but broken and scattered and afraid. Even if you go beyond the emotional, mental and psychological, there is still a sense of separateness. But if you can remain present in all of it. If you can surrender to the point where there is only surrender left, then all of this insanity begins to burn away. Or you could say the sanity and the insanity are both burned away, and then what is left is stillness.
Not a stillness that is opposite of movement. But the stillness that exists underneath all movement,
that is realized because the movement is fully allowed and witnessed. You don't become a better person or a different person, you simply become your ordinary self and at the same time you have awakened to the fathomless depth of stillness that goes with it.
The two cannot be separated. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. The Projected Self - Nondual perspective on emotional regulation, conscious relationships and making effective change.
Emotional Brain Training - This is something new to me that I think looks pretty good. Seems like this fits in nicely with EMDR and mindfulness (nondual wisdom) and is definitely worth exploring. I invite you to take a look at it. If you have experience with this, I'd be interested. Jordan

Breitenbush 01 - The Rains Retreat - The Journey Home by Eckhart Tolle by

Tape 5 (Continuation...)
So, there are many levels to being here.
Sometimes you have to face that.
Other times there is the simple and profound simplicity of the Now.
And there's clarity and there's non-labeling if only for maybe a short duration, for awhile.
It doesn't matter.
There's non-interpretation, non-labeling. Just pure, clear, aware presence.
And the rain is still there. Permanent, semi-permanent.
The same attention that you give to the rain is the attention that you give to the pain-body.

Death
The dream self is the movement of mental and emotional energy in avoidance of death. Awareness identifies with thought and emotion in some attempt to create and maintain a self out of past and future. This self seeks permanency. But there is no permanency in time. Time is finite. Time is mind. It is thought. Thought, by its very nature, arises and falls.
Enlightenment is the falling away of the story of me living in past and future. In that falling away, what is left is timelessness - the infinite, the eternal. In that falling away, liberation and unconditional love arise. Jesus said, "If you want to find your life, you must lose it." He was not referring to physical death or encouraging martyrdom. He was pointing to the fact that this dream self (which he called sin) is an obstacle to enlightenment or Oneness (which he called God).
When the dream self is seen to be nothing but an illusion, physical death is no longer feared. The fear of death arises only because the dream self believes it is a real entity totally separate from the rest of life - an entity that can die. But your real identity is beyond the cycle of physical birth and death. When the fear of death dies, the fear of living goes with it. That is non-dual freedom.

Chapter 12
FACT: CONSCIOUSNESS
IS WHAT THE PRESENT IS
(Continuation...)
Suppose you tried to say Consciousness was conscious in the past-say five minutes ago. It really wasn't. Why? Look closely at the real nature of what you are calling "five minutes ago." Consciousness isn't back there-It's present here, now. It is thinking that has gone back to five minutes ago-for all there would be to that "five minutes ago" is some kind of mental image being projected in thought. And it is always now when one projects or thinks it.
Suppose you tried to say Consciousness, Awareness, can be aware in a future, and that you will be aware "then." Are you sure? Is It Awareness that's ahead in a future, or is Awareness always here, now- and thinking is projecting thoughts of a future? All there ever would be to any "future" is the mere projected thought of a future. And again, it is always now when it's being projected. The "future" never is an actual state; it's always just a bunch of projected mental images, nothing more than a lot of speculative imagining, being imagined now. Awareness can't leave Now, the Present.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion: Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"
The Presence Portal |
| | Michael Brown |
From PART V: 2. (Continuation...)
The Presence Process does not buy into this mentality. It is therefore not a medium destined to being exploited by those of us who know how to gobble up book information and then spit it out as though we know what we are talking about, as if we have real knowledge. The Presence Process side-steps this. When we take the time and energy to facilitate ourselves through the prescribed experience offered by the experiential procedure in the book, it enables us to awaken from this delusionary plight and realize, through experience, that we can competently carry ourselves. Over a period of 13 weeks, The Presence Process gives us the opportunity to accumulate real life experience. This activates the knowing that we contain within us all we seek and much more than is possible for us to imagine at this point in our evolution.

Peace And Happiness Are Inherent In Consciousness
(Continuation...)
It does not make sense to talk about the presence of Consciousness 'at all times,' because Consciousness does not exist in time. Time exists as an idea in Consciousness. However, we have to accept these limitations of language if we are to speak of Presence.
If Peace is independent of all conditions of the body, mind and world, it implies that Peace is not a state, that it does not come and go. It is present behind and within all appearances of the body, mind and world.

Chapter 84
Your Goal Is Your Guru
(Continuation...)
Q: I find myself suffering, but not enough. Life is unpleasant, but bearable. My little pleasures compensate me for my small pains and on the whole I am better off than most of the people I know. I know that my condition is precarious, that a calamity can overtake me at any moment. Must I wait for a crisis to put me on my way to truth?
M: The moment you have seen how fragile is your condition you are already alert. Now, keep alert, give attention, enquire, investigate, discover your mistakes of mind and body and abandon them.

 From Above...
(Jordan highlights or comments on quotes from the teachings above.) |
Nisargadatta: "The moment you have seen how fragile is your condition you are already alert."
Jordan: It interests me that I have spent most of my life not seeing how 'fragile' is thing called life really is.
