Perfect Bliss

"Self acceptance
is the beginning
of true meditation.

When you fully allow
everything to be
exactly as it is
then you transcend
that level of experience.

You allow the body to
be as it is
and your awareness
expands beyond the body.

You allow the emotions
to be as they are
and your awareness
expands beyond emotion.

You allow thoughts to
be as they are,
and your awareness
expands beyond the thinking.

If there is any urge
to change something,
improve something,
then there is conflict
and you remain stuck
in that which you wish
to change.

Many see happiness
as some future goal:
'If I can heal my emotions,
if I can stop reacting in this way,
if I can be free of these memories,
if I can stop my thoughts
then I will be happy.'

And so there are all
of these different modes
of healings and therapies
and belief systems
giving you the illusion that
if you just work on yourself
hard enough and long enough
then you can be a perfect person.

And nothing could be farther
from the truth.

I am not knocking
self improvement,
it has its purpose,
but it also gives you the illusion
that some time in the future
you will be good enough.

Which means you are not
good enough now.

The underlying
condition of self improvement
is that how you are in this moment
is wrong.

You are a glitch in the system
and you need to be fixed.

Yet from your natural state
of pure awareness
everything is perfect
as it is.

Not as a judgment
but as an obvious truth.

So when you enter meditation,
accept yourself as you are.

This is not
'I love myself as I am'
or any other psychological therapy.

It is to accept everything as it is
all the way to the core.

You let it all be exactly as it is
without any involvement.

You let go of trying
to do it,
trying to control it
and allow that
which cannot be known
to take over.

Because then you relax into
the essence of that experience.

And the essence
of all experience
is consciousness.

One all encompassing
perfect consciousness
that lights up the whole show.

That is
the whole show.

And the nature
of consciousness
is bliss.

Perfect bliss.

Blessings,

Kip"

[One could say, it's like the pain-body is the coal and the attention is the fire.]

Or any substance, any fuel, fire will consume it and transform it into itself.

So, the beautiful thing is, that your attention transmutes that energy so it's not that you need to get rid of the pain-body, because it is life energy that's trapped due to egoic delusions.

"Uh, Uh, I can't move any more."

More on ideas about enlightenment

Yesterday's reflection stated, "Enlightenment is the death of identification with everything the self loves to hang onto including spiritual ideas."  Spiritual ideas are merely stories pointing back to the timeless, empty, awake space in which everything and every story arise.

When it is realized that this moment is all there is, stories continue to arise.  The story, "I am enlightened," or "I am unenlightened" may arise.  Words such as non-duality, Oneness, and enlightenment may arise to express what is essentially inexpressible.  Recognize that whatever we say about This is This appearing as a story about it.  The words are never the truth.  They are pointers only.

Yet none of these stories should be suppressed or denied.  Who would try to suppress or deny them?  Only a self with an agenda to change what is would try to suppress or deny anything.  Only a thought would seek to deny another thought.

If a movement to suppress or deny a story arises, see it.  If a spiritual idea arises, see it.  When this seeing happens, an awakeness beyond the stories realizes itself.  That last sentence is also a story.  It's not the truth.  Just see it.  Look to where the words are pointing.  See that what is seeing is not a story.  What is seeing is prior to all stories.  In this seeing, everything is allowed to be just as it is, without attaching or identifying with any of it.

FACT: THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THAN CONSCIOUSNESS

RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE CONSCIOUS.

(Continuation...)

Each moment you sense something by way of a visual image, a tactile feeling, or any other sensation-those particular sensations are constantly shifting, changing and passing on, never to return again. Each sensation is instantly replaced by another new visual or tactile sensation, and another, and another, non-stop. Like moving frames of film in a movie projector, the specific image and sense of touch that you had of this book a few seconds ago are gone, already having been replaced by the fleeting image and touch you are experiencing at this moment in passing time, and on and on. In its essence, it all would be a state of vibration, always moving or passing on in time. All of it always is fleeting, passing away, and not being-or being "not." Shocking as it may sound, it would be just so much non-presence!

The point is, for your entire universe, Consciousness is all that truly is present. Don't read on until you settle with yourself on this. It means Consciousness is "the way it is"-which is another way of saying Reality, Truth. Consciousness has to be Reality, for nothing else is really being to be Reality. Reality isn't a far-off state one ultimately becomes conscious of. Reality simply is what really is-which is Consciousness effortlessly being, right here, now. You just showed it to yourself.

When we need persuading to improve the quality of our life experience, we are not yet ready; we do not yet contain the emotional capacity to set out on this journey.

Peace And Happiness Are Inherent In Consciousness

(Continuation...)

It only becomes a state (deep sleep), appears to become a state, when it is mistakenly conceived of by the mind to have lasted for a certain length of time. However, there is no time in deep sleep.

These three states are not well-defined categories. It would be more accurate to say that there is a flow of objects, gross and subtle, that takes place within this ever-present Consciousness.

Chapter 84

Your Goal Is Your Guru

(Continuation...)

Q:  I see your point.  While awake, I know that I am, but am not happy, in sleep I am, I am happy, but I don't know it.  All I need is to know that I am free and happy.

M:  Quite so.  Now, go within, into a state which you may compare to a state of waking sleep, in which you are aware of yourself, but not the world.  In that state you will know, without the least trace of doubt, that at the root of your being you are free and happy.  The only trouble is that you are addicted to experience and you cherish your memories.  In reality it is the other way round; what is remembered is never real; real is the now.

Jordan:  These past few paragraphs by Rupert have been excellent.

Nisargadatta:  "In reality it is the other way round; what is remembered is never real; real is the now."

Jordan:  So, anything that is used by the mind that comes from memory, is not real.  A lot comes from memory.  Like close your eyes and feel your body.  Do you feel a body?  Or do you feel the memory of the body?  The feeling of the body is very different from the physical picture-image of the body.

In addition, over the past few paragraphs, it's like Rupert and Nisasrgadatta are having a conversation.  This is a first.
