Advanced Self-Inquiry
"In meditation, one of the greatest things you can do is become aware of how thought identification happens. Become aware of the process of thoughts arising and the action of being attached to identifying with those thoughts.
There is a feeling of contraction behind it, a feeling of stress.
A feeling of constantly holding on to something that is flying all over the place. And if you can recognize that attachment then you can begin to let go of it. You can begin to rest in non attachment where thoughts are never even given the power to fully become a thought. You will find if you remain un-identified to thinking,
the power that makes thinking happen dissipates and thoughts can slow down and even stop altogether.
And then what is left is impersonal radiance, a power that expands and consumes everything that may arise back into itself like a blazing fire of consciousness. So you see it is not what you know, how you act, or even what your experience is that is important.
We are looking behind all of that.
We are looking at the first action of identification that turns the whole thing into a personal you with a personal mind and a personal story. We are breaking that attachment to creating that identification and recognizing what is left.
Remaining in what is left.
It may not be blissful or peaceful or loving. You can't look to get something out of it. You are stopping the creation of what is looking for bliss in the first place to remain in what is undeniably here underneath it all. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. [The seeing is freeing, and then less and less are you identified with the movement of the pain arising.] And many of you are at that point now where pain-body still arises but it is no longer using your mind or is using your mind very briefly before you wake up, so to speak out of that identification. And then what's left when you wake up out of the identification, with mental identification with pain-body and that moment you wake up and what's left is simply the emotional movement in here, in which you feel in your body. It's no longer fueled by thought.

Reflections of the One Life: Daily Pointers to Enlightenment by Scott Kiloby by BookSurge Publishing Paperback ~ release Date: 2009-08-10

July 29th Seeing the "me" as resistance Life is simply happening. It is not happening to you. The me story believes that life is happening to it and that it must do certain things and avoid doing other things. Yet doing just arises. The me story cannot see this because it is too busy with the story of the doer. See that the me is nothing more than resistance. A circumstance arises and the me mentally labels it as bad or unsatisfactory. The me may also feel an emotional resistance to the circumstance. The me did not bring about the circumstance. It simply happened. The me brought about neither the emotional resistance to the circumstance nor the labeling of it as bad or unsatisfactory. All of that arose spontaneously in the moment it arose. Conditioned responses to life circumstances simply arise. In seeing all of this in the moment it arises, the entire emotional and mental story of me is seen to be nothing more than a conditioned response, a sort of involuntary contraction against or reaction to life. In that seeing, the resistance naturally dissipates. What is left is complete openness to what is. In that openness, it is realized that the me is not even doing the seeing. Seeing also just happens. It is seen that you are so much more than a self-centered story of resistance.

FACT: THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THAN CONSCIOUSNESS
RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE CONSCIOUS.
(Continuation...)
For this to be clear, identify yourself as pure Awareness, pure Consciousness, only-entirely distinct from the body and everything else you seem to be aware of. One who is alert sees that pure Awareness, all by Itself alone, never changes or goes away. Thoughts come and go, yes. Emotions pass. And the body's five forms of sensing-what is seen, heard, touched, tasted and smelled-change constantly. Looking closely, you see it's always the stuff you seem to be aware of that's changing and passing, never Awareness Itself. Awareness, all by Itself alone, is present as pure Being, a changeless presence which simply, immovably is.
Go ahead, try to move Awareness physically by giving it a shove. Can it be done? Try mentally to outmaneuver Awareness and think It away, or make It change from being present now. Even try spiritually to pray Awareness away with all the faith you can muster. No amount of physical effort, mental effort, or belief can do it. Not even the highest intellectual arguments about semantics or definitions will alter pure Awareness or make It other than absolutely present.

Peace And Happiness Are Inherent In Consciousness
(Continuation...)
Have we ever had the experience of our Self, Consciousness, disappearing?
That is not possible. There would have to be something present to witness that disappearance, and that something would have to be conscious. It would in turn be that which we call 'I,' Consciousness.
When an object appears within this conscious Presence, this Presence knows itself as the witness of that object.
In deep sleep, 'I,' this conscious witnessing Presence, remains exactly as it always is in the waking and dreaming states.

Chapter 84
Your Goal Is Your Guru
(Continuation...)
Q: Is it by accident that I met you and by another accident shall we separate never to meet again? Or is my meeting you a part of some cosmic pattern, a fragment in the great drama of our lives?
M: The real is meaningful and the meaningful relates to reality. If our relationship is meaningful to you and me, it cannot be accidental. The future affects the present as much as the past.

Michael Brown: "We manifest outer drama to gain attention from the world. We do this because we do not yet know we are the one impacting the quality of our life experience."
Jordan: Or how we are impacting it, or what to do to impact it differently - in an effective manner. See The Projected Self: A Nondual Perspective on Emotional Regulation, Conscious Relationships and Making Effective Change for more ideas on how to impact the quality of our life experience. +++++
Nisargadatta: "If our relationship is meaningful to you and me, it cannot be accidental."
Jordan: That is good to know.
Nisargadatta: "The future affects the present as much as the past."
