Advanced Self-Inquiry
"In meditation, one of the greatest things you can do is become aware of how thought identification happens. Become aware of the process of thoughts arising and the action of being attached to identifying with those thoughts.
There is a feeling of contraction behind it, a feeling of stress.
A feeling of constantly holding on to something that is flying all over the place. And if you can recognize that attachment then you can begin to let go of it. You can begin to rest in non attachment where thoughts are never even given the power to fully become a thought. You will find if you remain un-identified to thinking,
the power that makes thinking happen dissipates and thoughts can slow down and even stop altogether.
And then what is left is impersonal radiance, a power that expands and consumes everything that may arise back into itself like a blazing fire of consciousness. So you see it is not what you know, how you act, or even what your experience is that is important.
We are looking behind all of that.
We are looking at the first action of identification that turns the whole thing into a personal you with a personal mind and a personal story. We are breaking that attachment to creating that identification and recognizing what is left.
Remaining in what is left.
It may not be blissful or peaceful or loving. You can't look to get something out of it. You are stopping the creation of what is looking for bliss in the first place to remain in what is undeniably here underneath it all. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. So, at first the seeing may not happen in the middle of it, it may happen after the pain-body has come and gone.
Of course, it's never gone for that long.
It's dormant while it digests the food.
And then after awhile, a few days, a week, a few weeks if you're lucky, the food is digested and then it goes, "I'm hungry again."

Reflections of the One Life: Daily Pointers to Enlightenment by Scott Kiloby by BookSurge Publishing Paperback ~ release Date: 2009-08-10

The world is a reflection of mind
When you see a "tree," notice that you are interacting only with thought. Someone taught you the word "tree." It is not true that you are looking at a tree. The object could have been called a "splunk" just the same. The word is not that which it describes.
When you label a situation as good or bad or believe that a person should or should not be doing something, this is also just thought. There is nothing wrong with thinking. The ignorance arises only when you believe that your thoughts are totally true. Ignorance is failing to see the projector of mind that is continuously placing a conceptual overlay upon reality in an attempt to strengthen a fictitious central "me." Ignorance here is not meant to be derogatory. To ignore here means to "not see."
In seeing the projector of me projecting its movie onto the world, the possibility of waking from that movie arises. In this awakening, it is realized that the world is a reflection of mind. Spiritual realization does not come by merely changing the characters and content of the movie that is being projected. The movie is an illusion. Realization is available only through seeing the movie as an object on the screen of awareness. Since it is an object in awareness, it is not what you are. When the movie of self is seen to be an illusion, what you really are reveals itself.

FACT: THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THAN CONSCIOUSNESS
RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE CONSCIOUS.
(Continuation...)
If you were conveying a new "viewpoint"-that of Consciousness, not a body-you'd need a brand new way of expressing it. Using the same old words would leave the reader no choice but to apply old meanings, and would be just a rehash of the same old thing.
These pages give a fresh, new "take" on Life. The language seems unusual only if read out of context. To skim or jump ahead to later sections is a waste-the writing seems like an odd way of speaking, or just so much ethereal gibberish. Yet when you see what the words really mean, they zero in on Your True Self like a laser beam. They make it impossible to be ignorant or ignore-ant of Consciousness.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion: Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"
The Presence Portal |
| | Michael Brown |
(Continuation...) It is necessary to journey all the way through this fear to the other side of it to realize the extent of the shadowy veil we throw over our own life experience. The first step is being prepared to accept we are 100% responsible for our present predicament as it is right now. We did this to ourselves. We invited this in. No one is to blame. By attempting to pin the cause of our present predicament on a past life we are seeking to side-step personal responsibility, and to instead fuel the hellish flames of victim or victor mentality. While backing away from our fear in this manner, by projecting it into some distant scenario, or onto some distant devil, imaginary or not, we give our power away. |

What We Are, It Is
(Continuation...)
At first mind is created within the timeless unity of deep sleep, in which Oneness abides in its own unmanifest condition and in which everything is enfolded in potential.
We could say that this Oneness of deep sleep metamorphoses into mind, takes the shape of mind. This creates the world of dreams, of subtle images, in which time but not space is present.
Then the Oneness of deep sleep creates within itself or becomes the faculties of sensing and perceiving, without ever becoming anything other than itself, and, as a result, space is created.

Chapter 83
The True Guru
(Continuation...)
Q: So, there is no need to worship, to pray, to practice Yoga?
M: A little daily sweeping, washing and bathing can do no harm. Self-awareness tells you at every step what needs be done. When all is done, the mind remains quiet.
Now you are in the waking state. A person with a name and shape, joys and sorrows. The person was not there before you were born, nor will be there after you die. Instead of struggling with the person to make it become what it is not, why not go beyond the waking state and leave the personal life altogether? It does not mean the extinction of the person; it means only seeing that person in the right perspective.
