Power of Now
"It's very easy to carry the past around with you.
To think about what happened yesterday or a year ago or 20 years ago. To think you could have done something different that would have made things better. Or link all of the memories together into a story and calling it 'me.'
But it's all nonsense. What happened even 20 seconds ago has nothing to do with what you are now. From the perspective of the mind you are this person that stretches back in time. You are the sum of all of your memories.
But this is only mental chatter. It has nothing to do with what you truly are.
Truly, meaning not what you think yourself to be but what is here beyond all the thinking nonsense. No matter what you may think about it, you are alive in this moment.
Yesterday is not alive; yesterday is nonexistent. Right now, there is the undeniable sense of life beyond all the useless definitions and descriptions.
Right now life is happening and it is your choice whether you are alive in this moment or you choose to distract yourself about endless commentaries of what happened before, what might happen later and what to call this moment so the mind can understand it.
If you choose in this moment to experience yourself alive then you are radiance.
It is no easy task, it requires your complete attention to remain here on what is really going on in this moment.
Not your ideas about what is going on, not your knowledge of what it felt like 10 seconds ago to be alive in this moment.
But right here; living is happening, life is happening.
Not for your body or your mind or any of that nonsense. You allow all that to be but you look past it.
Something much bigger, life itself in its totality radiating even exploding in this moment with such force that it belittles the mind, belittles the idea of this self important 'you' with all its problems and desires.
Its not really about getting a certain pleasure or attainment but being alive, being willing enough to truly feel life happening in this moment and remaining alive, remaining attentive to the direct experience that life is happening forever and ever in this moment. To remain immersed in the source of life that is lighting up the whole show. And if you even think about it you miss it.
If you know it you miss it.
It is too simple for understanding.
Too close to you to even be seen. You can only be and recognize being, which are really the same thing. You fully recognize being in this moment and there is no room for anything else.
Consciousness takes up the whole view. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. [The seeing is freeing.]
'Seeing,' I use it metaphorically. You don't necessarily see it with your eyes, you only see the external behavior with your eyes. But you see it with the sense of 'know' - you suddenly know all that unconsciousness is recognized. In that recognition, it is depersonalized. There is no longer a 'me' in it.

Reflections of the One Life: Daily Pointers to Enlightenment by Scott Kiloby by BookSurge Publishing Paperback ~ release Date: 2009-08-10
To Scott Kiloby
|
 | | Scott Kiloby |
July 20th How can I realize enlightenment? The question arises along the spiritual search, "If I am not the doer of any action, how can 'I' realize enlightenment?" The separate self that you take yourself to be is not your true identity. It is nothing more than a set of images tied together. This set of images consists of thoughts of past (who you believe you are), thoughts of future (who you believe you are going to become) and thoughts that resist what is happening right now. That set of images creates the appearance of a doer. This is sometimes called the personal will or ego. That personal will believes it took action in the past and that it can take action now and in the future to bring about desired outcomes. Enlightenment remains elusive when this personal will is trying to bully itself into some future state of freedom. Enlightenment is available when the personal will (i.e., the separate self) is seen to be nothing more than a contraction within the body and mind built around the story of me that lives in time. That thought-based, time-bound self will never realize enlightenment. Instead of trying to do things to reach enlightenment, effortlessly notice what is already being done. Notice the personal will as it arises in each moment. Notice the awareness within the body and mind in which the personal will arises and falls. That which notices is already free.

FACT: THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THAN CONSCIOUSNESS
RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE CONSCIOUS.
(Continuation...)
Wouldn't you appear to be conscious of the entire experience? You'd have to be aware of this so-called god to be certain you had finally met. For this so-called god to even appear there, would depend on your being conscious of it. If there were no Consciousness, this god wouldn't be-so this god depends entirely on Consciousness for its existence. It is merely a mental concept-not true God or a power at all! A concept never is conscious or alive; it doesn't even know it is there. Only Consciousness Itself is conscious to know anything.
Real Power resides not with any human conceptual god-but with Consciousness which is forever greater than all concepts.
Why start with a vague god, or some concept, and try to kid yourself into believing this mental concoction is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient?
Turn the whole thing completely around.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion: Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"
The Presence Portal |
| | Michael Brown |
(Continuation...) We contain within us an ensemble of magnificence; an array of skilled and powerful aspects, attributes, and expressions, waiting to come to our rescue and lift us up to the higher place within ourselves from which there is no fall or toxic withdrawal. However, our inner resources cannot accomplish anything for us when we have no faith in them. When we instead choose to entertain parasitic behavior, inauthenticity, a quick fix, the lying we do to ourselves and hence everyone else, the stealing, cheating, and continual betrayal of those we love, this is the energetic nature of the unseen guests who make themselves at home within us. This is then the resonance of the congregation within our Inner Temple. To whom do they pray and what prayers, we may ask, are they praying on our behalf? Because they are praying on our behalf. |

What We Are, It Is
(Continuation...)
It is the creativity of Consciousness, through the faculties of mind and senses, which refracts Oneness into a dance of apparent multiplicity. Time is the first language of the mind. Space is the first language of the senses. Remove time and space from experience - that is, remove name and form - and we are left with the Oneness of Consciousness/ Existence. We are left with timeless, spaceless Presence, with Being. Being shines in the self as Consciousness and in the world as Existence. §

Chapter 83
The True Guru
(Continuation...)
Q: Many Gurus have the habit of giving tokens of their grace-their head cloth, or their sticks, or begging bowl, or robe, thus transmitting or confirming the self-realization of their disciples. I can see no value in such practices. It is not self-realization that is transmitted but self-importance. Of what earthly use is being told something very flattering, but not true? On one hand you are warning me against the many self-styled Gurus, on the other you want me to trust you. Why do you claim to be an exception?
M: I do not ask you to trust me. Trust my words and remember them, I want your happiness, not mine. Distrust those who put a distance between you and you true being, and offer themselves as a go-between. I do nothing of the kind. I do not even make any promises. I merely say: if you trust my words and put them to test, you will discover how absolutely true they are. If you ask for a proof before you venture, I can only say: I am the proof. I did trust my teacher's words and kept them in my mind and I did find that he was right, that I was, am and shall be the infinite reality, embracing all, transcending all.
As you say, you have neither the time nor the energy for lengthy practices. I offer you an alternative. Accept my words on trust and live anew, or live and die in sorrow.
