The Path of Shakti

"If you really want to live in bliss,
then half of the journey is awakening
the shakti:
the subtle energy current
that runs through your body
and beyond the body.

You sit with
a fully enlightened teacher
or you listen to
The Infinite Sky CDs
or The Calling CDs
and Shakti is awakened
in you.

The other half is attention.

You begin to feel this shakti
as bliss, peace or love
and you give your attention to it.

You become aware of it's
movement and through awareness
you allow it to move freely
through your body
and awaken every particle
of your being.

It's a very simple process,
but it comes down
to what you value.

If you value bliss,
if you value unconditional love
then you give your full attention to it,
and you nurture it.

But if you value other things,
if you place importance
on your opinions,
the content of your thinking
or outward fear and pleasure
then this bliss cannot
touch you as much.

It still touches you,
but not as deeply.
Still, slowly, it makes itself known
more and more
calling for your attention.

And little by little
you give up your distractions,
your worries, your self importance
and self destructive tendencies
for the peace
that permeates everything.

Because it makes you feel alive
in a way nothing else can.

You begin to adjust your life
around nurturing this bliss,
from the food you eat,
the activities you do,
to the company you keep.

And then this bliss begins
to appear in all aspects of life.

You walk in bliss,
you talk in bliss,
you work in bliss.

Bliss no longer becomes
something you have,
rather bliss simply is,
radiating without cause or reason.

You become so transparent
that there is only light.

Blessings,

Kip"

[Many traffic accidents are caused by driving pain-bodies because a driving pain-body wants the accident.]

That's the amazing thing.  It doesn't 'know' that.  If you say, "You want an accident."  It says, "You're mad!  I don't want an accident."   But the driving pain-body unconsciously seeks the experience, the painful experience of the accident.

And so, sooner or later he will come into proximity of another driving pain-body.  And both want the accident.

Roles

When you identify with a role, you cannot see your own identification.  You are that role.  Perhaps you are lost in your role as a doctor, secretary, or salesman.  Or perhaps you are lost in some other role such as recovering addict, cancer survivor, victim, co-dependent, or even brother or parent.

Roles are false, egoic identities.  When you are lost in a role, the spirit is not free to react naturally and spontaneously to life.  You are lost in a past image of yourself.  You act and react within the pattern of that past image.  You tend to treat others according to their roles and how they relate to your role.  If you are a doctor, you see only patients.  If you are a salesman, you see only customers.  If you are a mother, you see only children.  Others people simply reflect back to you your particular role, which strengthens the role.  There is no true relationship when images are relating to images.

In present moment awareness, there is freedom from all roles, identities, images, and self-concepts.You are no longer living life through rigid thought patterns of the past. You are free to respond to life intelligently, naturally, and spontaneously. When you notice each role you are playing in the moment you play it, you are present. You are transcending that role. This allows others the freedom to no longer react from their roles.True relationship is then possible.

FACT: THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THAN CONSCIOUSNESS

RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE CONSCIOUS.

(Continuation...)

Traditional thinking implies the universe still would exist if there were no Consciousness. How could one be certain, if there were absolutely no Consciousness to verify such a thing? Who would vouch for a universe still existing?

There are other reasons why Consciousness cannot be limited, and is not inside the body. Think about those who have had what are called near-death or "afterlife" experiences. There are many documented cases in which the body was supposedly knocked out, or "unconscious," yet Consciousness continued functioning, because they still had an experience they were vividly conscious of.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion:  Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"

The Presence Portal

Michael Brown
Michael Brown

31. I am a heroine user attempting to resolve the cause of my addiction. Since starting the Process I have repeated nightmares about similar past life experiences. I am struggling with the fear these nightmares generate. THE PRESENCE PROCESS focuses on healing the child within us, but what about working with our past life traumas? What if the cause of addiction is not in this life?

(Continuation...)

Our preoccupation with past lives is a manifestation of our unconscious resistance to paying attention to the experience we are in now. It is a distraction. A preoccupation with our past lives is like attending a peace rally to stop a war happening in another country when we cannot sit in peace around the dinner table with our own family. It is a distraction from what is happening NOW. It is also an unconscious attempt to blame something in the distant past for our present predicament, instead of containing the courage to take full responsibility for our present circumstances. Unfortunately, this distraction is encouraged by whatever parasites we host as a consequence of artificially opening our energy systems through addictive behavior. These presences distract us as long as we buy into the blame game. Until we perceive their ploy through the content of our reactive and self-destructive behavior patterns, they continue to project images into our awareness to seduce, confuse, and distract us, just as we are projecting self-serving images into the awareness of those around us.

Our True Body

(Continuation...)

It is clear from this that 'I,' Consciousness, although undeniably present, cannot be known as an object. It is the Knower of whatever is known.

However, Consciousness also knows itself because knowing is its nature. It is always present and therefore it always knows itself.

To know itself in this sense, is to be itself. Its being itself is its knowing itself.

Knowing and Being are identical when referring to Consciousness.

Chapter 83

The True Guru

(Continuation...)

Q:  How can I make out whom to follow and whom to mistrust?

M:  Mistrust all, until you are convinced.  The true Guru will never humiliate you, nor will he estrange you from yourself.  He will constantly bring you back to the fact of your inherent perfection and encourage you to seek within.  He knows you need nothing, not even him, and is never tired of reminding you.  But the self-appointed Guru is more concerned with himself than with his disciples.
