The Path of Shakti

"If you really want to live in bliss,
then half of the journey is awakening
the shakti:
the subtle energy current
that runs through your body
and beyond the body.

You sit with
a fully enlightened teacher
or you listen to
The Infinite Sky CDs
or The Calling CDs
and Shakti is awakened
in you.

The other half is attention.

You begin to feel this shakti
as bliss, peace or love
and you give your attention to it.

You become aware of it's
movement and through awareness
you allow it to move freely
through your body
and awaken every particle
of your being.

It's a very simple process,
but it comes down
to what you value.

If you value bliss,
if you value unconditional love
then you give your full attention to it,
and you nurture it.

But if you value other things,
if you place importance
on your opinions,
the content of your thinking
or outward fear and pleasure
then this bliss cannot
touch you as much.

It still touches you,
but not as deeply.
Still, slowly, it makes itself known
more and more
calling for your attention.

And little by little
you give up your distractions,
your worries, your self importance
and self destructive tendencies
for the peace
that permeates everything.

Because it makes you feel alive
in a way nothing else can.

You begin to adjust your life
around nurturing this bliss,
from the food you eat,
the activities you do,
to the company you keep.

And then this bliss begins
to appear in all aspects of life.

You walk in bliss,
you talk in bliss,
you work in bliss.

Bliss no longer becomes
something you have,
rather bliss simply is,
radiating without cause or reason.

You become so transparent
that there is only light.

Blessings,

Kip"

"In meditation
you are not moving
in a linear line
going from one
place to another.

Rather you are moving
deeper into this moment.

So the most important part
of meditation,
if you are practicing the path
of awareness
is to allow yourself
to rest in this moment.

To allow everything
to be exactly as it is
and relax into it
and sink right through it.

This sounds quite easy,
but when you are constantly
looking forward,
trying to attain something
trying to get somewhere,
then when you actually
try and rest in this moment,
you are confronted with something
that you want to escape.

It's like the closer you are
to no separation
you really feel
that sense of separation
the strongest.

When you are busy
looking forward in time
or backwards in time
then you have successfully
escaped fully feeling separation.

But the moment you give
up this linear movement
you are confronted
with what is here.

And then there is the need
for complete surrender,
to fully allow yourself
to sink into feeling
what is here.

To fully immerse yourself
into what is here
beyond the thoughts,
the emotions,
and the physical sensations.

There cannot be
any looking for it to be
a certain way.

You cannot look for there
to be a payout.

But the moment you give up
this constant urge to move
forward towards something,
and sink into this moment,

you are immersed in peace.

And then the practice
is to relax more and more
into the depth of consciousness
which exists outside of time.

To sink deeper and deeper
into the eternal stillness
of this moment
that lies beneath
all movement.

Blessings,

Kip"

Tape 5

[There are people for whom the pain body is there ninety percent of the time and even a hundred for some people live...their whole identity is a painful sense of self - the me.]

Either varies continuously, very sad and heavy or almost continuously very angry.  You can see, when you...if the predominate energy vibration of their pain-body is anger and that person walks past, you can sense it coming, it's waiting for an excuse to externalize the anger.

Illness and injury

Whenever there is physical illness or injury - whether it is a cold, a pain in your leg, or a long-term illness - notice the personalized mental and emotional story of suffering that often surrounds the ailment.  Illness and injury are perfect fuel for strengthening the time-bound, thought-based story of "me."  The mind tends to stay stuck in the past, thinking about how long the illness or injury has been around.  It also tends to stay stuck in the future, thinking about how long it will take to be free of the illness or injury.

If there is pain or discomfort, see that awareness is the present space around the pain or discomfort.  Notice that your true identity is this present awareness.  Notice any thoughts or negative emotions that arise in response to the pain or discomfort.  See that the thoughts and emotions are not you.  They are arising in what you are - present awareness.  Notice that even the words "illness" and "injury" are stories of the past (i.e., memorized concepts) arising in present awareness.

Gently bring your attention back to this moment when you notice the story of "woe is me" playing in the mind.  Notice any negative emotions that arise in your inner body when the story arises.

Illness and injury are aspects of life.  However, suffering isn't necessary.

FACT: THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THAN CONSCIOUSNESS

RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE CONSCIOUS.

(Continuation...)

["Of course I'm conscious," the thought may come. "Why belabor such an obvious fact?"]

Stop and consider what Consciousness means. If the very Consciousness here, now, were not conscious, you wouldn't be able to say there was such a thing as this book, or the body holding it. As far as you are concerned, there would be no such thing as a home, no job, no possessions or money. How do you know this is true? The only way those things can be said to exist is that you appear to be conscious of them. It is all thanks to the fact that there is Consciousness.

The Presence Portal

Michael Brown
Michael Brown

31. I am a heroine user attempting to resolve the cause of my addiction. Since starting the Process I have repeated nightmares about similar past life experiences. I am struggling with the fear these nightmares generate. THE PRESENCE PROCESS focuses on healing the child within us, but what about working with our past life traumas? What if the cause of addiction is not in this life?

(Continuation...)

We are therefore encouraged to facilitate our journey into self-discovery by asking ourselves questions like:

  • Is anyone honest with us?

  • Are we being honest with ourselves?
  • Do we believe anyone tells us, face to face, the truth we require hearing to overcome our addiction?

Our True Body

(Continuation...)

That the presence of Consciousness and Being are known as one, in the knowing of the speck of dust, makes the speck of dust the most extraordinary miracle.

It is for this reason that the Kashmiri Shaivites called this exploration of experience a yoga of 'wonder, astonishment and delight.'

We simply stand open, empty, silent, unknowing and wondrous.

Chapter 83

The True Guru

Questioner:  You were saying the other day that at the root of your realization was the trust in your Guru.  He assured you that you were already the Absolute Reality and there was nothing more to be done.  You trusted him and left it at that, without straining, without striving.  Now my question is:  without trust in your Guru would you have realized?  After all, what you are, you are, whether your mind trusts or not; would doubt obstruct the action of the Guru's words and make them inoperative?

Maharaj:  You have said it-they would have been made inoperative-for a time.
