 Love Poems
Flawless (5/28/11)
By Ana Ram Callan
(I'd like to offer a series of love poems for my Beloved Ramana. Please note that I refer to Him variously as Ram, Rama. and Ramana, as He is an embodiment of Divine Consciousness, ultimately without a name at all.)

To Realize Freedom
"Awareness itself is always free. If you are completely aware in this moment, watching what is arising instead of being caught up in what is arising, then the experience is freedom. Yet if you remain aware without getting caught up, at some point it will no longer feel like freedom.
The urge to again attach yourself and identify yourself to what is here is so strong that eventually it will overpower awareness and again you will identify with what is here in order to release this build up of pressure. Many will simply dip in and out of awareness.
They will have a taste of awareness and then go back to identification and in this way, the bliss of awareness begins to flow over into mind identification. This is certainly one method. Another method is to consciously lengthen that time of awareness or even break out of that urge to identify with thinking all together. Then there is the willingness to do whatever it takes; to commit yourself to spiritual practice and disciplines which are conducive to awareness. You really either fall in love with awareness or you are so desperate to break out of mind identification that you give yourself fully to the task. And although outer things get addressed like diet, exercise, relinquishing addictions, creating an enlightened energetic environment around you, there is an inner movement that takes place: The willingness to remain firm in awareness use whatever techniques or non techniques to break through that urge to identify with the mind. Or, through observation, you pick that mind identification mechanism apart piece by piece until it breaks, until you are released into an unconditional awareness that does not pull you back. In this method you most likely move beyond the social aspect of spirituality, you go beyond the beliefs and ideas of how it is supposed to be and investigate for yourself what really is true in this moment, what really works for you to fully awaken to freedom.
And what really works maybe completely different than what you thought it would be. You come out the other end completely different than who you thought you were in the first place. And that is magnificent, that is true freedom. To realize bliss all ideas of who you think you are and what you know fly out the window. Blessings, Kip" Please Note: Please Note: My main teaching is for you to immerse yourself in Kundalini Shakti - the energy one naturally radiates in the highest states of enlightenment. Reflections of the One Life: Daily Pointers to Enlightenment by Scott Kiloby by BookSurge Publishing Paperback ~ release Date: 2009-08-10

June 4th Simple presence Simple presence is the total allowing of what is already happening. As you get ready for work or to go wherever you are going this morning, notice what is happening totally beyond your control. Thoughts are appearing. Emotions are happening. Perhaps there is tiredness or grumpiness, but it's just happening involuntarily. You aren't choosing any of these things. As you are getting ready, notice that your arm involuntarily and spontaneously moves towards the closet to find clothes to wear. You don't have to give the command, "Arm! Move to the closet." The moving of the arm just happens. Notice that, even if there was a thought prior to moving the arm such as, "I need to find something to wear," that thought arose spontaneously and involuntarily also. It came out of nowhere. Life is happening completely on its own. The mental voice that arises to resist, manipulate, and change what is happening is what creates the suffering and seeking. It creates the illusion that you have control over what is happening. In seeing that even the voice that arises to resist, manipulate, and change happens beyond your control, there can be a natural resting into what is. That is simple presence. No one brings it about. It happens completely on its own through noticing that life is happening to you. You are not bringing it about. In that seeing, the suffering and seeking energy is released. |

Our True Body
(Continuation...)
There is no mind as such. The existence of a mind is simply an idea, a concept. It is a useful concept but it is not a fact of experience. Likewise we do not experience the body in the way we normally conceive it. In fact there is no body as such. There is a series of sensations and perceptions appearing in Consciousness. And from time to time there is a thought or an image of a 'body, ' which is considered to be the sum total of all these sensations and perceptions.

Excerpts From "Being Our Companion: Exploring Self-Facilitation Through The Presence Process"
The Presence Portal |
| | Michael Brown |
The Presence Process was born out of an intention to uncover a gentle, integrative approach to make causal adjustments to our emotional body. To accommodate gentleness into the frequency of the experience, we first carefully open up an energetic pathway into the emotional body before we re-enter it to initiate adjustments. In this way the experience is not traumatic.

The Medicine of Meditation
(Continuation...)
Breathing has deep roots in our being. By changing the way we breathe, we can change so many other things about our life. For example, anger, pain, happiness, excitement - of our different emotions carry their own particular signature of breathing. When we're relaxed in meditation, we breathe harmoniously with the whole. We breathe slowly, rhythmically, evenly.
Relaxation is the ultimate experience.
If we're relaxed, we'll become aware of the one
 | | Thought |
who is experiencing the relaxation. Total relaxation is total realization. Relaxation isn't a state of mind but
a process of letting go of
attachments, investments, illusions, and projections. It's awareness that we aren't our tension. When we're aware, we don't need to invite relaxation - it comes of its own accord.

Chapter 81
Root Cause of Fear
(Continuation...)
Q: In meditation, who meditates, the person or the witness?
M: Meditation is a deliberate attempt to pierce into the highest states of consciousness and finally go beyond it. The art of meditation is the art of shifting the focus of attention to ever-subtler levels, without losing one's grip on the levels left behind. In a way it is like having death under control. One begins with the lowest levels: social circumstances, customs and habits; physical surroundings, the posture, the breathing of the body; the senses, their sensations and perceptions; the mind, it's thoughts and feelings; until the entire mechanism of personality is grasped and firmly held. The final stage of meditation is reached when the sense of identity goes beyond 'I-am-so-and-so,' beyond 'so-I-am,' beyond 'I-am-the-witness-only,' beyond 'there-is,' beyond all ideas into the impersonally personal pure being. But you must be energetic when you take to meditation. It is definitely not a part time occupation. Limit your interests and activities to what is needed for you and your dependents' barest needs. Save all your energies and time for breaking down the wall your mind has built around you. Believe me, you will not regret it.
