WHS Regulations Approved
With less than 6 weeks till the new Health and Safety requirements become enforceable in Queensland the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld) (WHS Regulation) has been approved. The WHS Regulation has been approved with some changes from the model WHS Regulation such as the inclusion of specific requirements for the following areas -
Management of the risk of falls (s306A-306Q)
Falling objects (s315B-315M)
Management of amenities on construction sites (s315A)
Licensing (s144-144ZC, S272A, 279A, 583A)
Excavation work (s305A-305B)
Spray painting (s367A-367H)
Most of the differences between the model and the Queensland WHS Regulation reflect items which are currently covered in our regulations but which were not included in the model WHS Regulation.
