Legislative Update - Height Safety in Domestic Construction

The National Code of Practice for the Prevention of Falls in Housing Construction has been declared by Safe Work Australia. This new Code of Practice will affect the domestic construction industry and effectively changes the requirements for working at heights.

Queensland Legislation identifies specific requirements such as the creation of a Work Method Statement for work at heights, which must be met if working at over 3 metres in height on a domestic construction. The new National Code of Practice identifies that these requirements should be met when working at 2 rather than 3 metres in height bringing the requirements in line with other construction work.

For more information see the Safe Work Australia website.
