Understanding Licence Requirements for other States
In February 2007 arrangements were put in place for the mutual recognition of occupational licences across Australian States and Territories. Similar in principle to the model OHS legislation, the agreement aims to streamline compliance requirements across Australia.
A licence recognition website has now been set up to enable licensed tradespeople and authorities to understand licence requirements across States.
The website provides information regarding equivalent licences a worker requires, or is entitled to, in another State or Territory (jurisdiction). Where there is no equivalent licence entitlement, the website provides information regarding the relevant licencing body and contact details to obtain further information on licencing requirements.
