New Photos: Downtown Library Under Construction Local photographer Magnus Dahlgren has taken some more terrific panoramas of the new downtown library under construction. The view of the atrium below is just a stationary excerpt. In the real photos you can rotate your viewpoint 360 degrees. There are shots of the cool ironwork on the second floor, the space that will become the new community room, and more. Click the white arrows on those photos to see other ones.

Reading Day is Coming to Valley Mall!
Washington County Reading Day is Saturday, May 5th at the Valley Mall. Doors open at 10:00 AM and all children attending will receive a free book while supplies last.
Highlights: - Children's authors Mary Amato and Erica S. Perl will be making guest appearances.
- Master of ceremonies Michael T will present a magic show.
- Visit with over 30 authors. Purchase books and get them signed.
- Enjoy a scavenger hunt, face painting, games and more.
- Performances by Washington County Teen Idols

Picture Book Contest Winners
Congratulations to this year's Easy Picture Book Writing Contest Winners! Thanks to all who participated - over 60 budding authors entered this year's contest, sponsored by the Friends of the library in celebration of Children's Book Week being celebrated this year May 7-12. First place winners receive a hardback copy of their work and an additional copy will be placed in the library's collection.
