Who said children get to have all the fun? Join the Torrance Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Program! Pick up a reading game card at any Torrance Public Library and complete five activities. Return the game card by Saturday, July 28 to enter a drawing for gift cards or a Kindle Fire. Participate in a book club or other program including bookmaking, romance book discussions, and more! Torrance Public Library presents the 2012 Summer Reading Program "Dream Big READ!" Visit any Torrance Library, sign up, and receive a free book bag and reading log. Read twenty minutes per day, and complete your reading log by July 28 for a Certificate of Completion. Visit the Torrance Library weekly, telling the Librarian about your reading, and receive a fun incentive. The Torrance Public Library Summer Reading Program is free for babies through high school, and generously sponsored by the Friends of the Torrance Library, the ExxonMobil Foundation, the Torrance Teachers Association, and other generous donors. Summer Parks: The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites the public to stop in for fun at the parks this Summer. Recreation staff will be leading and supervising activities and crafts at no cost! Young children should be accompanied by an adult, as this is a drop in program where children can come and go as they please.
