John's pick of the week! |
I'm John Jones, Director of the Community Services Department. This is our thirteenth edition of the Torrance eNEWSLETTER, another way to find out what's happening in the great City of Torrance. Each week I'll give you my picks of what you and your family can do in Torrance.
Winter Fun! Stop in for fun at the parks this Winter. Recreation staff will be leading and supervising activities and crafts at no cost! Young children should be accompanied by an adult, as this is a drop in program. Parks marked with an asterisk* will be closed in the event of rain. Please call (310) 618-2930 for more information. 2. Breakfast and a Visit with Santa | |

Come enjoy a morning of fun! Activities will include a pancake breakfast (served until 9:30 a.m.); cookie decorating; holiday carols; a gift and special treat from Santa; picture with Santa (please bring your camera for photos with Santa); entertainment featuring a puppet show by Jim Gamble Puppet Productions and music by DJ Ozzie. All children ten years of age and younger must be accompanied by a paid adult. Tickets are $20 a person (CHECKS ONLY ACCEPTED on the day of the event). Seating is limited. | 3. Annual Christmas Bird Count |

Come and join Bob Shanman at the Madrona Marsh Nature Center for the Christmas Bird Count Class. He will share the basics of bird watching, collecting data, including describing and identifying the different birds. This class is best for ages 8+. The cost is $5 per person.
