John's pick of the week!
|
I'm John Jones, Director of the Community Services Department. This is our eleventh edition of the Torrance eNEWSLETTER, another way to find out what's happening in the great City of Torrance. Each week I'll give you my picks of what you and your family can do in Torrance.
Come shop at the Torrance Certified Farmers' Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It offers the freshest and most wholesome fruits and vegetables available directly from over 60 California farms. The market is held at Wilson Park, adjacent to the Dee Hardison Sports Center. Listen to live music, and stay for breakfast or lunch. Read more...
There are so many great things planned for our community this week, so choosing one was just too hard. So I've decided to give you my top five... We hope you join us today, as we continue to "Create and Enrich the Community through People, Programs and Partnerships!"

December 2, 2011 at 8:00 PM This event presented in the TTC Historic Downtown Torrance Theatre at 1316 Cabrillo Avenue is a perfect holiday outing for young and old alike!!! The kid travels about meeting numerous colorful characters. Along the way a few invaluable lessons are learned and in the end the kid ultimately discovers that a parent's love and care has no limits. Partridge in a Pear Tree is constructed around the gifts of the twelve days of Christmas described in the well known medieval carol. It is the story of how Tib, a young lady, finally ends up marrying Simon, the bird seller in the right way instead of the way her scheming, domineering mother had planned. Read more...
