St. Francis of Assisi School Newsletter

Home of the Wolves

January 4, 2012

Dear St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School families,

Tom Waszak

Happy New Year! I hope you and your family had a joyous Christmas!

I had a wonderful Christmas and you are partially responsible! I want to thank the St. Francis community for your amazing Christmas spirit! I was overwhelmed by your generosity and expression of Christmas cheer. Your gifts and cards made my Christmas especially merry. I am grateful to the students, faculty, and parents for bringing the Christmas spirit to our campus and for sharing it with those who are less fortunate.

General Parent Meeting
Thursday, January 19, 7:00 pm

I know that your time is extremely precious so I intend to make each parent meeting a worthwhile experience by sharing important and interesting information. Each parent meeting this year has had a theme. In September I presented my goals for the year; in October I presented plans for the restructured school board; in November I provided an overview of school finances. The focus for the January 19 meeting is on SFA curricular and extra-curricular programs and assessment results. I want to showcase the variety of programs offered and the quality results that are achieved. My goal is to finish the business portion of the meeting by 8:30 pm. I hope that you are able to attend.

New Years is a time for change, usually in the form of New Year's resolutions. However, change at St. Francis did not wait for January 1st, it began with the first day of school. Whether practical (a widened sidewalk), institutional (a restructured school board) or cultural (receiving a five star ranking on GreatSchools.com), the St. Francis community is resolved to make the necessary improvements and changes to propel our school to greatness.

Thank you for taking the time to view this email. I hope you have a wonderful day, and I look forward to meeting you in person.

Sincerely,
