Medicare Part D Deadline December 7th Is the Last Day To Change Prescription Drug Plans


Seniors have until December 7th to switch Medicare Part D prescription drug plans. Because Part D plans often change, it is important for beneficiaries to compare plans each year to make sure their current plan is still the best one.

 

To compare and switch Medicare Part D plans, go to www.medicare.gov.

Medicare Part B Costs

Seniors Will Pay Less Than Expected for Part B in 2012

 

The 2012 standard monthly premium for Medicare Part B (outpatient services) will be $99.90, less than the projected $106.60 cost. In addition, the Part B deductible will be reduced by $22 next year.
 
Higher income enrollees may pay a bit more each month for Medicare Part B. For more information on Medicare costs, go to http://www.medicare.gov/cost/.

Utility and Weatherization Assistance for Low-Income Seniors  


As the weather turns cold, many low-income seniors struggle to pay heating bills. Several programs provide assistance with utilities and weatherization, including:
