Ahoy, Me Hearties!
We would like to extend our gratitude for the very generous donation of the wonderful ship that now happily resides in our 1-3 grade play ground, to Lewis and Linda Ludlow of Bears, Buddies and Toys in Huntington Beach.

Thank you also to the Burnett and Norgaard families for the ship's dismantling and transport to school. And to the Burnett, Norgaard, Norman and Rodelo families for the kind and careful reconstruction of the ship next to the little brown house. The children love it!

You Don't Want To Miss It
Back-to-School Night
Wednesday, October 3, 7PM

We have such an action-packed evening in-store for you, you'll want to stay all night...but we promise to have you out by 8:30.  Book your babysitters now because you definitely want to be present for all the information and fun, including a chance to win a reserved parking space for the year.  Yes, you read it right, every person at back to school night has a chance to win a reserved parking space -- we will draw the winner at the event.

While parking is a premium on campus, we have something even more special to share with you.  For the first time ever, we will share photos of the student's celebration of Michelmas.  This is a magical and meaningful part of our curriculum typically not seen by parents.  We have always wanted to share it with you, but have not had the opportunity.  This is the year.  Please do not let your children know that there will be photographers on campus during Michelmas because we just want them to experience the event without thinking about cameras.  This is important, please know the photos are just for you.  The slideshow will live at back to school night only, for very specific reasons.  More information on Michelmas to come.

Plus, there will be everything you expect from back to school night.  Great information and pertinent news to help you navigate your family through another beautiful year.

Welcome New Families!

The strength and diversity of our school grows with each new family that joins us.  Some of them have joined us from outside of the Waldorf community; some have come from other Waldorf schools; and some have been with us in our Playgroup program and are moving on into our Early Childhood classes.  No matter where they came from, young or old, they inspire us to broaden our community and embrace these new friends.  If you see a new face on campus that you do not recognize, make a point to stop and say "hello."  These are extraordinary people!

Please join us in welcoming these new students and their families to our community.

Waldorf Education for Adults

Our New Foundation Studies Program

Begins THIS Weekend, Sept 14-15

Foundation Studies is a two-year course of study which can be taken as a 'stand-alone' introduction to Waldorf Education, or as the first half of our four-year part-time WSOC Teacher Training Program.

If you've ever thought about this educational adventure for yourself, now is the time to join.  You may take the program in its entirety, or as individual courses.

Learn more about the individual sessions.

This brochure explains the full program in detail.

If you're interested, we can help you in the office or you may get in touch with Chris Bennett, the program's director.  His contact information is on the attachment.

Fresh & Easy Shop for Schools Program

September 15 - December 31, Fresh & Easy will donate $1 to our school for every $20 in Fresh & Easy receipts collected.  Save your own receipts, collect your neighbors and family's receipts.  Write your name on them.  Turn them into the Scrip Office and get credit toward your family's scrip commitment for the year.  It's that easy.

The fineprint -- each receipt is calculated in $20 increments.  A receipt of $19 yields nothing.  A receipt of $99 dollars yields $4.
