HALLOWEEN
Monday, October 31, we welcome the children in grades 1 to 12 to dress up in creative costumes. Please refrain from costumes that have toys or simulated weapons, scary masks, or gory make-up. Costumes should not interfere with regular schoolwork and activities. These are the general rules; you may receive more specific instructions from your child's teacher. |
HALLOWEEN IN THE COMPANY OF ANGELS
THERE IS STILL TIME....to decorate for Halloween...come in and see our scary decorations...EEEEEK!!
Fall is upon us and we have beautiful Beeswax Taper and Pillar Candles to light your home. Next month is full of holidays and reasons to celebrate the season. All Souls' Day, November 2, was the day Victorian families would visit the cemetery, offer prayers, and reflect on the sweetness of life. Martinmas, November 11, celebrates the light of generosity with the festival of lanterns. Then there is my second most favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, November 24th. Don't forget the first day of Advent, November 27th!
With all of that said, we shall honor our Thanksgiving holiday in the store with a few decorating ideas to help celebrate the day. Have a very fun and wonderful Halloween on Monday!

LA GALAXY VIP PARTY FOR WSOC
A great opportunity has come our way from our new friends at the LA Galaxy. Based on the recent surge of visitors from the WSOC, the LA Galaxy soccer team has crafted a school-fundraising offer for the Western Conference Final scheduled for Sunday, November 6th. (time TBD)
The Galaxy will host a VIP party for WSOC guests in a separate section of the stands adjacent to the ESPN broadcast concourse. The party will be catered with beverages (beer, wine & soft drinks) and stadium eats (hot dogs, wings, chips etc) from the Stadium Club. All-inclusive tickets for the game and party are $200, with $60 of each ticket going to the school.
There is no limit to the number of tickets that can be purchased, and "friends" of WSOC are welcome to this offer.
However, all tickets must be purchased by 8pm on Tuesday, Nov 1st. It's short notice because the playoff schedule was just announced. We are jumping on this special opportunity to offer this unique experience to members of our community who might be interested. If your child is on a soccer team, and you want to extend this offer to their teammates, coaches, etc. it could be really fun for lots of people. Fans of soccer will appreciate the opportunity to see a play-off game, which will certainly be sold out and not easy to get.
If you desire tickets, and wish to pay by check, please contact [Denise Ogawa dogawa@waldorfschool.com
(949) 574-7775 x210.]
If you wish to pay by credit card, please contact Dick Carle through the school.
We hope to see you there in support of the Galaxy and the school. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Special Note: The Galaxy needs to win another game prior to Nov. 6 in order for this game to occur. Based on their standings, we are confident. However if there is no game on Nov. 6 for the Galaxy, no payments will be processed.

PARENT ASSOCIATION NEWS
Exciting news! We are proud to launch the WSOC Business Resource Directory! This is a fabulous way for our community to learn about and utilize business resources directly from other WSOC families. We have been excited about the option of sharing business resources within the community for some time, and now we have a great way to do it. Here's how...
For business owners/resource providers:
Go directly to http://www.waldorfschool.com/directory/signup to load your business information into the system. Once verified, it will be posted in the WSOC Business Resource Directory. Please note that entries are for businesses/services offered only by Waldorf families. General community resources or businesses (e.g. your aunt's really great cleaning lady) will not be included in this directory.
For those in search of services:
Go directly to WSOC's homepage (www.waldorfschool.com) and click on the business directory button on the right side of the page. You can also go directly to the page via this link: http://www.waldorfschool.com/directory. Enter the password wsocbd to browse the resources. Give us a little time to get resources entered -- since this is a new system, we need enteries submitted in order for resources to show up on the list.
