ANNUAL GIVING REMINDER
A hearty thanks to everyone for your generous gifts to this year's Annual Giving campaign. We are very much in need of your support this year, as the quest for 100% participation remains. If you have not yet had the chance to donate or pledge, we have envelopes in the front office or you can go on-line www.waldorfschool.com/annual.
Important Note: If you are intending to make a gift in monthly installments, there is only a little bit of time left in which to do this on-line. Go to the website and choose "would like to make periodic payments." This allows you to choose any amount and spread out the donation from January 28 - June 28 via credit or debit. After January 28, the option of these automatic monthly installments will not be available.
The envelopes will be available all year! Thank you for your incredible support of the school. It matters a great deal and we are grateful.

"RACE TO NOWHERE"
SCREENING
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and invited friends, family and colleagues. We had over 150 people with us for the film screening and approximately 70 people for the open house. Well over half of these folks were visitors, who were warmly met by our faculty and staff, not to mention lots of friendly faces of WSOC parents. Thank you for being such excellent ambassadors and for dodging puddles while walking here from parking at Fairview Park.
A special thank you to our hospitality team for your handiwork in making all those paper cones to house our cheerful snack. A special thanks to Alex and Lori Hayden for greeting our guests with such joy and efficiency! And to Chele Eades for her attention to detail, and for staying with us all day so our hospitality was welcoming and fresh well into the 6:00 p.m. hour.

THE COMPANY OF ANGELS
After reading pages and pages of Mrs. Sharp's Traditions for the month of January...our weather conditions outdoors currently just do not apply...snowy, blowy days...dark days...gloomy days...which lend themselves to staying inside and playing board games in the parlor. Well, I thought, we still need those quiet evenings and togetherness with the family, so yes, I'm in hook line and sinker!!
The store has still a tremendous amount of board games for all ages including the tried and true Monopoly, Scrabble, and some new ones like Shut the Box and Hoot the Owl. Isn't it time to clean out your game cupboard and replace your old games with a new one?
L.A. International Gift Show was our home away from home for 3 days last week. Needle in a hay stack I say. Do they not realize we are a UNIQUE STORE!! Some of our out of stock items will soon be returning including - Cat's Cradle, Silks, Jump Ropes, Tweeting Birds, Magnets just to name a few. New items are also arriving - Necklaces with initials, Hip hold everything bags for the market, Lanterns, Cards, and much more.
We are here and always welcoming to suggestions that you our community would like to see in the store. Michaela Heller just gave us a tip on a wonderful special yarn which is made by our current vendor, Brown Sheep, which is a Bulky Lanaloft...it is BEAUTIFUL! Thank you Michaela.
VALENTINE'S DAY is out and looking quite Festive - please do come in and see. We have papers, stamps, flags, etc. for your children to create their own Valentine's Cards for their sweet friends.

The Board of Trustees is offering several "Coffee Chats" in the coming weeks in hopes of checking-in with our families. An email was sent on Jan. 17 explaining the chats in greater detail. If you have questions or anything to share about the TA program or any other matter regarding the school, we encourage you to come by and have a chat with members of the Board.

POLISH UP THOSE GOLF CLUBS
Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 17. We'll be tee'ing up at the beautiful Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo (same location as our Benefit & Auction Event a few months ago). It is going to be a great day for golf, camaraderie, good food and enthusiastic support for WSOC. We take foursomes, singles, men and women! Not a golfer? Join us for the post-golf party and auction. Plenty of guests of WSOC families spent the day with us last year and had a great time. Please invite them back and more!
We are joyfully accepting auction items now. We will have an on-line auction and event-only auction. Please contact Denise Ogawa with any questions about the event or if you have a line on an auction item.
