ANNUAL GIVING TIME

A hearty thanks to everyone for your generous gifts to this year's Annual Giving campaign.  We are striving for 100% participation.  We received MANY gifts over the break, so we are still in the process of tallying participation numbers.  If you have not yet had the chance to donate or pledge, we have envelopes in the front office or you can go on-line www.waldorfschool.com/annual.  On-line you have the opportunity to donate over time from January - June, by setting up an automatic debit or credit.  Please feel free to contact Denise Ogawa with questions,

(949) 574-7775, ext 210 or dogawa@waldorfschool.com.  Thank you everyone.  We are very grateful for your outstanding support of the school.

"RACE TO NOWHERE" SCREENING

January 21 at 1:00 PM

Free screening of the acclaimed documentary,

"Race to Nowhere"

Open to the public AND WSOC families

(no children please)

SEATING STILL AVAILABLE!!!

Thank you for getting the word out to anyone interested in education (friends, family, co-workers)

and for making your reservation at www.waldorfshool.com

We have had an excellent response.

Event flyers available in the office,

please take as many as you need and pass them out.

Open House (guided tour) follows the film,

geared more toward our first-time visitors.

But if you have not seen all the classrooms,

or taken a chronological trip through the grades,

then of course this is a good idea and please join us.

The Campus Expansion

and the new Parent & Child environment

(work still in progress)

will be open as well,

so you can visit those areas without committing to the entire tour.

Register for the film, the open house or both at  www.waldorfschool.com.

RSVP necessary to ensure

we have enough space for everyone.

Thanks!

IMPORTANT NEWS FOR FAMILIES IN PARENT AND CHILD PROGRAM

If you have a child who will be ready to enter Pre-Kindergarten this Fall,

(3 years and 9 months by September 1st),

and you did not make it to the Information Evening last October, don't miss the upcoming

Early Childhood Information Evening on

Wednesday, January 18 at 7pm.

Your attendance at this meeting is the first step in the application process for Pre-Kindergarten.

Our Early Childhood teachers will describe the curriculum and activities, as well as the developmental philosophy of our program.

Ideally, both parents should attend.

Applications for enrollment will be

available at this meeting.

Parents only, please.

And if you have friends with Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten-aged children, bring them along!

JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT

STUDENT ART CONTEST WINNER

Congratulations to Dane Forsum (7th grade) for placing 2nd in the 7th grade category in the 22nd Annual John Wayne Airport Student Art Contest.  The contest assignment was to creatively depict your most original idea about how SILENT FLIGHT might be celebrated.  There were over 1,000 entries from all over Orange County, from which 54 winners were selected.  Dane received the award in a ceremony held at the airport in December.  His work will be on display in baggage claim area #1 for a year.  Well done, Dane!
