NEWS FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Cynthia Sandoval who is stepping down from the board after serving on it for two years. Her expertise and integrity were a great asset and will be greatly missed.
Please meet our newest member of the Board, Jaime Stahl. Jaime is mother to Emelia
(age 8) in grade 2 and Molly (age 3). She is married to Erich Stahl, a Sr. Actuarial Analyst
at CareMore and they live in Costa Mesa.
Both grew up in Fallbrook, CA and married when Jaime returned from living in Texas
where she lived for 8 years. They enjoy
road trips, especially to National Parks,
and hiking.
Jaime is the Clinical Director of the Children's Learning Connection, pediatric therapy clinics.
She earned her Master of Arts in Marriage
and Family Therapy from University of San Diego with a specific emphasis in therapy
with children and has worked in the field of
behavior analysis with the pediatric population for over 15 years.
Jaime is currently the co-chair of WSOC Parent Association and will act as the Parent

SPEEDING AND PARKING REMINDERS
Please remember to adhere to the speed limits of our surrounding neighborhood.
**The speed limit on Canyon Drive is 25 mph.**For the safety of our children and the community around us, we ask again that you adhere to the following: - No speeding on Canyon Drive and within our parking lot.
- No parking in the red zones.
- No parking in front of the gates where the trash is located.
- No double parking where parked cars will be blocked.
- Please use only kind words when communicating with one another.
Please make a conscious effort to drive slower and adhere to the parking rules.
It would sadden us to recruit the assistance of the Costa Mesa Police Department or the local towing company!
Thank you for keeping our community safe! |
WINTER FESTIVAL WRAP UP! Thank you to all the teachers, parents and students who made our annual Winter Festival a lovely and joyful experience! It was the best kind of SoCal winter day -- greeting us with warm sunshine and escorting us into a brisk evening lit by the full moon. There were entertaining booths, crafts, treats and musical performances representing the full spectrum of our WSOC community. Alongside time-honored favorites like the Elves Faire & Festival Singers, there were new offerings this year like Freeze Frame Photos & Survivor Bracelets. Each year the festival is a renewed reflection of the very best of our community, as we come together and celebrate the winter season and our shared commitment to our children. Lovely and joyful! |

ANNUAL GIVING 2011-2012
Thank you for getting this year's Annual Giving Campaign off to a wonderful start. The last day of school in 2011 is tomorrow, but it's not too late to get your Annual Giving donation in as a 2011 tax deduction. Go to www.waldorfschool.com/annual/ before December 31, 2011. Otherwise the campaign continues into 2012 and there is no pressure to rush to do this immediately. You can also go on-line and structure a monthly payment to run from January - June, 2012. THANK YOU!!! |

ADVENT VERSE FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON
The first light of Advent
Is the light of stones
Stones that grow in
Crystals, sea shells and bones.
The second light of Advent
Is the light of plants.
Plants that reach up to the sun
And in the breezes dance.
The third light of Advent
Is the light of beasts.
The light of hope that we may see
In the greatest and in the least.
The fourth light of Advent
Is the light of man.
The light of hope, of thought
To give and understand. |
