GRADE 4 LAZY W RANCH FIELD TRIP
On November 9 and 10, the 4th Grade went on a field trip for their California History block. We went to the Lazy W. Ranch and the San Juan Capistrano Mission. We built a kiicha (tuli reed hut), made Adobe bricks, ground corn (the adobe was mens work, but most girls like it more than the womens work of grinding corn.) We made tortillas, worked on looms, made candles, then had a fiesta! The next day we panned for gold, and dug to find artifacts about the Ahachaman (Native Americans). We all came home with things like gold, candles, bracelets and not just thing but also we came home loving our first over-night field trip. It was wonderful! I loved it, and can't wait for the next one.

WSOC BUSINESS RESOURCE DIRECTORY
For business owners/resource providers:
Go directly to http://www.waldorfschool.com/directory/signup to load your business information into the system. Once verified, it will be posted in the WSOC Business Resource Directory. Please note that enteries are for businesses/services offered only by Waldorf families. General community resources or businesses (e.g. your aunt's really great cleaning lady) will not be included in this directory.
For those in search of services:
Go directly to WSOC's homepage (www.waldorfschool.com) and click on the business directory button on the right side of the page. You can also go directly to the page via this link: http://www.waldorfschool.com/directory. Enter the password wsocbd to browse the resources. Give us a little time to get resources entered -- since this is a new system, we need enteries submitted in order for resources to show up on the list. |
