 CRAFT GROUP

We will meet every Wednesday for a simple craft and cup of tea outside The Company of Angels.

Our projects will include needle felting, wet felting, sweater art, knitting, crocheting and many more!

A detailed list of activities will be posted outside the door of The Company of Angels.  If you would like to be on the email list, please see Rachel Skelly inside the store or email

rachelskelly@sbcglobal.net.

Our crafts will be led by our talented handwork teacher Christine.  Hope you can join us.

TWICE UPON A TIME

We have a recycled clothing store outside the CoA which is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!  We will gladly accept little girls party dresses and black and white performance concert clothes and any nice clothing articles.

These are made available to the community for a donation which helps fund the Company of Angels garden and craft group expenses!!!

At the moment we are buying the sprinkler system for the garden and we keep the area full of beautiful plants!

If there are any volunteers who would like to help to sort and hang up the clothes, please call Rachel Skelly at 949-496-2615.

After a month or so,the clothes are taken to a shelter so they are put to good use in the community!

TEACUPS WANTED

Teacup Turtle

Do you have a stray teacup, saucer, hankie, doily, or even one of those tiny spoons?  We have an excellent home for LOTS of them at ZANY2011.  We are collecting them in the office.  Just place them gently into the basket with their new teacup friends.  Thank you.

PARENT ASSOCIATION NEWS

Welcome back to school from the Parent Association!  We are excited to share a new school year filled with new opportunities.  The Parent Association's goal is to support the enrichment of the Waldorf experience for families through education, community building, and volunteerism.  Our community's Service Groups are an active and essential part of our school that help build and support the community through volunteerism.  Once we have a finalized roster of Service Group chairs for the year, we will be sure to get that information out to all families so that everyone can jump right in!

SAVE THE DATE

Our kick off meeting for Service Group chairs and any other interested community members will be held September 22nd at 8:30 (after drop off) in the Company of Angels garden.  Please contact us directly with any questions or if you would like to get involved!

COMPANY OF ANGELS NEEDS HELP!

COMPANY OF ANGELS is in URGENT need of a volunteer either Monday or Friday afternoon - shift schedule 12:00-3:30.  Please see Nona in the store for details.

FESTIVAL OF CHILDREN

We have been chosen by the Festival of Children (FOC) as among their top 10 most worthy O.C. non-profits.  They have honored us with an invitation to participate in a special fundraising opportunity called, "The Carousel of Possible Dreams."  On Sept. 27, Team WSOC will hop aboard a carousel pony at South Coast Plaza to raise funds for our school.  The riders will not hop off until the fundraising goal has been reached.  Dramamine and mobile phones are allowed!

Our WSOC riders are:  Rachel Hulan, Annie Stawicki, John LaLonde, John Telfer, Brooke Tomblin, Wende Zomnir, Paul Conolly and Denise Ogawa.  They are pounding the pavement and asking their network of people outside WSOC, to contribute to a worthy cause.  We are using this as an opportunity to raise funds from outside our already-devoted WSOC families.

There is one exception....A very generous WSOC family has sweetened this opportunity with a matching grant of $10,000.  So every dollar Team WSOC raises, up to $10,000, will be matched dollar-for-dollar.  Thank you wonderful anonymous donor!

So what can you do if we are not directly asking YOU for a donation?  Please spread the word.  We want this message to reach as many people as possible.  Send the message and link below to your friends, family members and co-workers and ask them to support WSOC with a donation of any size Let them know every dollar will be doubled!

CAROUSEL OF POSSIBLE DREAMS

Through September 27th, the Waldorf School of Orange County will be a featured charity on the CAROUSEL OF POSSIBLE DREAMS website to raise funds for our school.  Every dollar raised, up to $10,000, will be matched dollar-for-dollar by a generous donor.  Your help is needed and every dollar counts.  Please visit the Carousel of Possible Dreams website here and click Waldorf School of Orange County.!

PARENT RESTROOMS

Just a reminder that parent restrooms are located in the container buildings adjacent to the 8th grade class.
