NEW DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

Starting in the next school year we are happy to welcome, Daniel Hindes, as our, playgroup through grade 12,

Director of Admissions.

Daniel Hindes is not only a product of Waldorf education (he attended a Waldorf kindergarten through grade 8) but he has also seen the other side of the coin having been a high school humanities teacher at Waldorf schools for the last 7 years.  We are sure that his deep pedagogical understanding of the curriculum along with his appreciation of Waldorf education will be an asset to this pivotal position in our school.

ANNUAL GIVING UPDATE

Thank you to everyone for participating in this year's campaign and for your incredible support of our school.  We are currently at a strong 93% participation school-wide.  The campaign remains open until July 31, 2011.  We are still striving to reach 100%, as it greatly enhances the school's outside funding efforts.

As we continually work to improve programs and bring you the best that we possibly can, we are looking for your feedback.  Please take a moment to complete this 1-minute survey

on Annual Giving.

Thank you.

JOIN US FOR AFTERNOON TEA

As Nancy Grimes transitions out of her role as Director of Admissions we are inviting our community to come and join her for a spot of tea in the lovely garden of the Company of Angels on Wednesday, June 8,

from 1pm - 3pm.

Nancy Grimes has been an integral part of our school for 17 years and has contributed in a myriad of ways since her beginning days as an early childhood teacher.  So many of us have been touched by her gentle smile and warm kindness that we are creating this opportunity for all to share a special moment with her.

GRADE 5 POETRY CORNER

Poetry inspired by the Greek story of Daedalus and Icarus by several 5th grade students.

Daedalus,

Clever creator of

the labyrinth

in which the minotaur lay,

Gave the gift of

Flight, or so he

Thought.

Prisoned, lying

In the dark,

He and his

Son, Icarus,

Collecting feathers

To escape on wings.

Wax held the wings together,

And Icarus, young Icarus,

Heeded not to his father.

Up he flew, closer to the sun.

His winged glory melted, and

So Daedalus watched in vain,

While his son died.
