CALLING ALL CRAFTERS

We are gauging interest and capacity in hosting our own WSOC Craft Boutique next school year. Picture an event where we invite the public to shop for our beautiful hand-made treasures, ideally during the winter holiday season. We are looking for ideas/templates that can be executed by a team of people, trained by someone with know-how in a certain craft. There is really no limit to what we can consider. Scarves, hats, purses, dolls, scrapbooks, jewelry, soap, paper crafts, candles....more! If you can teach others how to make something, or are interested in learning, please email

WILDCATS MOVE-A-THON

TOMORROW, FRIDAY MAY 20

The big day is tomorrow, Friday, May 20, 12:30 p.m. - 2:50 p.m.
Please turn in your pledge sheets to the office this week. Students can still generate pledges on-line by sending friends and family to our website.
Remember this is a 2:50 p.m. pick up day for all grades.
Kindergarteners are encouraged to join us, under the supervision of their parent (there will be a special area designated for the kindergarteners).
ALL STUDENTS should bring a water bottle. We will have refill stations.
Students will receive their free t-shirt on Friday.

*Classes with the highest amounts collected get prizes:

1^st place = $300 deposited into class account
2^nd place = $200 deposited into class account
3^rd place = $100 deposited into class account

Every student who generated $150 or more will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win some great prizes.

Bring 10-12 people to South Coast Soccer City for a game of "Futsal."
A brand new Viking Skateboard and Helmet.
4 students will have a chance to win a really cool skateboard deck.

GRADE 4 FIELD TRIP

A STUDENT PERSPECTIVE: WHITEWATER PRESERVE

On Monday, May 16, the fourth grade class set off for an overnight field trip in cars. Once there, we set up tents and ate lunch. Shortly before going on a hike along Whitewater River we spotted a big horn sheep on the mountain nearby our camp. After the hike we played Capture the Flag and told stories. Then we had dinner. A little while after dinner, when it was getting dark, we had hot chocolate, brushed our teeth and went to bed.

We woke early the next morning to pack up the tents and eat breakfast. Then we drove to the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation where we met with an Indian ranger who told us not to whine. I liked the hummingbirds that were there. They were very tame. We hiked roughly three miles and played in the river. Then we had lunch and drove back to school.

Help Class of 2016 earn $1500 by recycling your cans and bottles. CR & R has donated a container which will be used to hold everything the 7th grade receive.
