Open House &
Back to School Night
A Great Success

It was wonderful to see everyone here last night! Families toured the school all the way from kindergarten to high school. One of the highlights was a special slideshow on our Smart Board in grade 9 featuring all our children at Michaelmas yesterday. Thank you to Robin Theiss for getting her photos up so quickly.

Trivia questions about our faculty and staff kept us all guessing and laughing as did Gina Illes and her Vanna White impersonation.

Important Points Covered Last Night:
  • Site Update - City application almost through and groundwork is beginning.
  • Enlightened Evening - Tickets sold last night, opportunities still available for sponsorship, advertising, and of course donations to our auction.
  • Annual Giving - This is the cornerstone of our fundraising. Through annual giving we strive to close the 10% gap in our operations budget. You will hear from Annual Giving Team later this year.
  • Capital Campaign - Matching funds offer still active! If you have not signed the release letter for past pledges and donations, please contact Denise Ogawa: [email protected]

October 18--- Grade 6

NO PRE-PAID PACKAGES: You do not need to turn in any paperwork or money before picture day. There will be no obligation to purchase any pictures, although everyone will have a chance to do so when the images are made available.

WEBSITE PREVIEW & ORDER: You will be able to preview and order photos through a password-protected website. Packages as well as a la carte prints will be available. More information on this will be forthcoming.

CLOTHING: The best choice is the simplest. Solid colors or small patterns are best. Avoid plaids, stripes and large patterns.

COLORS: To retain a healthy skin tone avoid white, apple green, purple and yellow.

PARENTS: We welcome your enthusiasm in spirit, but please do not observe the photo session as this will be a distraction for the children.

MAKE-UP DAY: This will be for children who missed their regularly scheduled session, or if you would like a re-shoot due to photographer error (for example, the picture of your child is out of focus, has a blotch of light, has eyes closed, etc.). There will be only one make-up day: November 1.

Yearbook Staff Needed
The WSOC Yearbook is a treasured keepsake adored by many. Our talented yearbook crew of many years is transitioning this project into new, capable hands.  Thank you Jennifer Bloch, Linda Timmons and Shauna Forsum for putting together these great memories for our community. These ladies have done all the hard work building the files and are ready to train the new staff.  We are looking for photographers and a graphic/layout crew. Please contact Jennifer Bloch at (949)290-0416 or [email protected].

Volleyball Win!
In an exciting all-day event, the Lady Wildcats played their first volleyball tournament against several schools in the Orange County area at Concordia University on Saturday.  The girls were victorious over four out of five competing high school teams.  Thank you to volunteer Coach Craig Skelly and Assistant Coach Jeremy Feck as well as all other parent volunteers who came down to support the team. Congratulations girls!
