Dear Alliance Stakeholder,
This is an exciting time for our community and Alliance partners and staff! We are excited about our new communications tools that you will be seeing and the coordinated effort to bring you information, programs and opportunities to grow your business.
The Alliance is leading the effort in our 3 operating areas: economic development, Chamber and existing business services and quality of place; to drive initiatives that will continue to position our existing businesses and attract new ones to our market.
On the economic development front, we are engaged with a series of prospects who are interested in the assets our community has to offer. This is increase in early investigation by new prospects is one indicator that we should see moderate improvement in our overall economy in 2011. Companies know that they will need to invest in their business to compete as the economy adjusts and we are dedicated to provide them with the best choice to land. We are also in the throngs at developing additional strategies surrounding business development, which includes a medical device market study to assure that we can "play" in that market and an international strategy to attract new jobs and investment to Kokomo and Howard County.
For our existing businesses, 2011 will be bringing you opportunities to participate in programs through our Chamber University. We have surveyed our stakeholders and developed a robust list of programs that we can bring to our community in partnership with higher education and other public and private partners.
We continue to see strides in playing a role with our quality of place area. We are excited about upcoming activities in our downtown, developing new opportunities at Invetrek Technology Park and strategizing about opportunities a new US 31 corridor will bring to our community.
I would be remiss if I did thank the leadership from our Advisory Councils, Staff, Alliance Board and volunteers for their support and engagement as we move forward. As I have mentioned before, we are in a great position with many of our key audiences to bring new and exciting opportunities to our stakeholders and community. It is still a competitive world, but thanks to the leadership of our community, we can succeed. The Alliance will continue to lead in providing professional experience to local economic development, existing business programs and quality of place in Kokomo and Howard County and we thank you for your support.

AAA Hoosier Motor Club The number of benefits associated with AAA membership continues to grow to the extent that now, more so than ever before, it truly does pay to belong. As a member of AAA, you're entitled to a variety of travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. AAA is probably best known for the 24-hours-per-day, 365-days-per-year emergency roadside assistance it provides. In fact, while AAA Basic members enjoy three miles of complimentary towing per service call, up to $50 in vehicular locksmith services and emergency repair check acceptance of up to $250, more and more individuals are electing to upgrade their membership to AAA Plus/RV or AAA Premier in order to allow for the possibility of even greater roadside-related benefits. But AAA is about much more than just tow trucks. The AAA Travel Agency is Indiana's largest and boasts highly-trained travel agents who can assist in the travel-planning process by conducting time-saving research and while these agents don't charge a vacation planning fee to anyone, AAA members enjoy exclusive savings opportunities and value-added amenities. In fact, AAA members save $20 in service fees when they book an airline ticket at any Hoosier Motor Club office. The offerings are also plentiful through AAA Insurance where people can find out about auto insurance and auto warranty insurance, classic and collectible car coverage, boat, RV and motorcycle options and even commercial auto insurance.
