Bill Bringas
Volunteer of the Year
LAFD Engineer Bill Bringas is perhaps best known as the Chairman of the Lane Kemper Softball Classic, a yearly softball tournament for firefighters that raises between $20,000 and $30,000 for Widows & Orphans. But, that's just part of what he does. Find out why he's our Volunteer of the Year.

Encourage Giving
Help a hero by getting your company to donate
money or items to Widows & Orphans. What kind of items? Tickets to sports events or concerts, electronics, vacation packages, toys -- almost any item can be used for one of our charity auctions. See what else your company can give.
Fire Boat
Come Sail Away

Our annual Golf Ball Drop offers the opportunity to win $2,500, an HDTV or an iPad. Now, the volunteers who sell tickets can win something, too. The volunteer that sells the most Golf Ball Drop tickets gets a one-of-a-kind experience: Lunch and tour at the unique San Pedro fire boat station. So, get your Golf Ball Drop tickets and start selling today. Contact Event Coordinator Juliet Brandolino at (323) 259-5215 or jbrandolino@wodff.org. And thank you for being a hero to a hero.

Bachelor Auction

Get Your Very Own Firefighter

Is it getting hot in here or is it just us? Find out during the Fireman's Brew Firefighter Bachelor Auction at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, Aug. 30, 2012. Bid on hunky firefighters and rock out to live music. Proceeds benefit the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen's Fund. Details at the House of Blues' event page.

You Helped Bring Hope to Hope St.

Thanks to your kind and generous donations and participation, the 15th annual fundraiser for the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen's Fund was a smashing success. The event, which started as a tribute to our fallen firefighters, has become a celebration of the essential role that the LAFD plays in our community.
