A&D Medical Stays Connected at NACDS

This past weekend, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) kicked off its 2010 Marketplace Conference to a sold-out exhibitor floor, more than 150 of which were first-time exhibitors. The conference, taking place at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, began on Saturday, June 5, and ends at noon on Tuesday, June 8. The annual event is an opportunity for vendors, suppliers and retailers to meet and plan for the upcoming year. Retailers range from big box stores, large and small drugstore chains and many independents looking to find the right product assortment.

A&D Medical, the leader in connected diagnostic devices for tracking, storing and sending vital health statistics considers NACDS to be the most important time of the year to showcase what's new in home diagnostic devices.
This year is no exception.

The show offers many avenues to reach potential customers. One such offering is the NACDS Marketplace Product Showcase program. Through this highly visible program products are presented in display cases on the exhibit floor and virtually on the NACDS Marketplace website. Last year A&D Medical was the category winner in Home Healthcare with their Wireless Activity Monitor. As they continue to pioneer the health and wellness field they introduced the Tri-Axial Activity Monitor at this year's show. The Tri-Axial Activity Monitor (or XL-18 for short) is an ultra compact, go-anywhere device. It uses a tri-axial accelerometer which allows users to track their steps, distance and calories burned. The best part is it can be worn anywhere on the body and can even go in a purse, bag or backpack while still providing completely accurate data.

The XL-18 has a host of features that differentiate it from any other devices on the market. The large LCD screen shows all the vital information instantly and is enhanced with a motion indicator that shows the intensity of user's activity. It boasts two weeks of memory and a full two year warranty. The packaging is a departure from the standard boxes or clamshells seen in the marketplace. It features an environmentally friendly, completely recyclable package that can stand on its own or hang from a peg. The Tri-axial Activity Monitor extends A&D Medical's activity product line and is featured in this year's NACDS Marketplace Showcase program.

A&D Medical came to NACDS this year with one theme: "Connected". Connected represents their philosophy for home diagnostic devices. Everything they are developing is to quickly and easily connect people with their vital health statistics. A&D Medical is making it possible to connect to services like Microsoft® HealthVault™, Google™ Health and devices like the Apple iPad. They are even giving an iPad away at NACDS. Their new NACDS exhibit prominently displays the connected theme and gives users a chance to see the Tri-Axial Activity Monitor in action.
