The Sower Faithfully Spreading the Good News | October/November, 2010 |
|
Greetings in Christ Jesus! I apologize that its been nearly two months since the last newsletter. However, it's been a hectic, but fantastic fall.
In October, we celebrated two special anniversaries: the 25th Anniversary of Mission Journeys and the 40th Anniversary of Teen Mission, USA (see more info below). Both events were very successful.
This week (Nov 18-21), the National Missionary Convention is here in Lexington, KY. Teen Mission, USA, is leading the Local Arrangements team.
If you're coming to the NMC, stop by and see us at our exhibit area. We will be located in the concourse just outside Rupp Arena's main entrance (Booths A20, A21 and A22).
Please continue to keep all of us in your prayers. THANKS again and may God continue to bless!
In Him,
Greg Herriford (Executive Director/Teen Mission, USA)

Mission Journeys - 25th Anniversary Celebration (October 22-23, 2010)
We celebrated 25 years of the Mission Journeys outreach ministry on October 22-23. To honor this milestone, 140 volunteers from 18 churches in 4 different states helped us pack nearly 54,000 meals for Haiti.
These specially formulated, fast-cooking, rice-based meals will go to 2 missions we work with in Port-au-Prince and a Christian school TM helped start in the village of Dufailly.
These meals will also help the National Missionary Convention and their effort to pack 1 million meals at this year's convention in Lexington, KY.
THANKS to the following sponsors for making the event possible:
The Ink Spot/Lexington, KY
First Church of Christ/Burlington, KY
First Church of Christ/Bryan, OH
Chick-fil-A/Turfland Mall - Lexington, KY
Outland Travel/Cleveland, TN
Krispy Kreme/Richmond Rd - Lexington, KY |

Teen Mission, USA's 40th Anniversary Banquet was held on October 28, 2010, at Gardenside Christian Church in Lexington, KY. We were blessed to have nearly 150 people in attendance and an offering of nearly $10,000 was received.
The program featured inspirational music from the JD Miller along with a ministry update by TM, USA. Our program also involved honoring some of the members of the first-ever Mission Journey in 1985.
Those receiving our"Distinguished Servant" award were:
Dennis & Mary Herko, Kendell & Yvrose Johnson, Tom & Claire Muller and Paul & Frances Whaley.
THANKS again to everyone who helped make the banquet possible. Many of you have kept this ministry going over the years through your prayers, financial support and volunteer help. May God bless you! |
