Faithfully Spreading the Good News
August, 2010

Greetings in Christ Jesus! I pray all is going well for you and you have had a blessed summer. It's good to catch a quick breather from a very busy schedule and send out our August newsletter.

We've had a successful year of Mission Journeys with 400 participants serving around the globe (see more stories below). The Mission Journeys web site (www.missionjourneys.org) has been updated with a tentative 2011 trip list. It's not too early to be planning ahead for next year.

Despite financial challenges, we are looking forward to an exciting fall that will include Anniversary Banquets for both Teen Mission, USA, and Mission Journeys (see more info below).

In addition, Teen Mission, USA, is serving as Local Arrangements Coordinator for the 2010 National Missionary Convention held at Rupp Arena in downtown Lexington, KY, November 18-21. We're honored to be serving as hosts and ministering to many of God's special workers.

Please continue to pray for us as we head toward the fall. THANKS again and may God continue to bless!

In Him,
Greg Herriford (Executive Director/Teen Mission, USA)

Big THANKS to Pam Cooper! Office Secretary Leaving After 10 years

On August 13th, secretary Pam Cooper (pictured right) concluded a nearly 10-year ministry with Teen Mission, USA

During Pam's time with TM, the ministry experienced tremendous growth. Her efficient help was a big reason why. Since 2001, she has helped us send out nearly 4,500 volunteers on trips with Mission Journeys.

It was Pam's sweet voice that was most often heard when calling the office. In addition, she did the bookkeeping, and most of the correspondence with churches and individuals as well as assisting with bulk mailings.

She will be greatly missed by everyone. Greg Herriford and Ken Henderson agree, "Pam is one of the finest persons we've ever known. It's been a joy to work with her for nearly 10 years. Her contributions to TM's ministry have been priceless."

For the time being, Pam is enjoying her role as a Grandma, and will soon take up other employment.
GBS GraduationMission Journeys Return to Haiti
July 27-August 05, 2010

After a successful trip in February, Mission Journey teams returned to Haiti this summer, helping the nation continue their recovery from the massive earthquake of January 12, 2010.

Chuck Perry and a group of six traveled 35 miles outside of Port-au-Prince and worked with Yvrose Johnson and the Dufailly Christian Church. While in Dufailly, the team expanded the Church facilities in Dufailly to help give more room for the Christian school launched last fall. In addition, an evening preaching revival was held by Chuck Perry and a great VBS was conducted during the day at the Dufailly Christian Church.

At the same time, Greg Herriford and a team of six stayed in Port-au-Prince, working with the Eddy Bazin and Delmas Christian Church and Dr Sule Jean Marcel and the Carrefour-feuilles Church of Christ.

Greg's group helped rebuild a wall and clean classrooms at Eddy Bazin's mission/school in Delmas. In Carrefour-feuilles, the team preached, held a medical clinic, and conducted a graduation ceremony for students who had completed the Global Bible School courses (pictured above).

Groups will be going back to Haiti in 2011. Please contact us if you are interested!

Barnabas Project Underway

In late July, Dan Underwood began preaching at a church in the town of Double Head Cabbage. Dan reports there are many opportunities for mission teams there.

The church is still trying to finish their building, so there are walls to finish and paint, as well as general maintenance to be performed.

There are many children in the congregation, and they would love the opportunity to offer VBS next summer. The church is active in their community and hopes to expand its horizons. They share the love of Jesus with the inmates at a nearby prison on the first Sunday of every month, and hope to plant a new church in a small village near Sand Hill.

It is currently rainy season in Belize, so the electricity goes out quite frequently. The internet connection is even less stable, so Dan & Toni are doing their best to keep in touch.

They have updated information on their web site (www.bpministry.org) and posted new pictures on their Facebook page (The Barnabas Project).
