Our first Mission Journey team of 2010 led by Chuck Perry returned from Haiti on February 27th.
It was not easy, however, getting this trip off the ground. Due to the massive earthquake on January 12, 2010, we had two flights cancelled and ended up having to fly in and out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Our team worked with
Kendell & Yvrose Johnson and the
Dufailly Christian Mission. Over the past two years,
Teen Mission, USA, has been working with the Johnsons in Haiti
. Kendell was part of our first-ever
Mission Journey team in 1985 (to Haiti). He fell in love with Haiti, married a Haitian lady (Yvrose) and later returned as a full-time missionary.
The village of Dufailly is located about 40 miles from Port-au-Prince in the mountains of Central Haiti. The Dufailly Christian Church began in May, 2004, as a result of the mission work of Kendell & Yvrose. The church has 40-45 in membership. However, roughly half of those people have recently accepted Christ through the Church's efforts.
The church was meeting in a 21' x 14' tin shed, but last February's team helped in the construction of a nice 18' x 24' block building. In the fall of 2009, a Christian school was started there in the village.
While the village of Duffailly was spared epicenter troubles, several nearby towns did receive damage. Through our team and Yvrose's family and friends, we provided a base for operations near Dufailly to provide food for people who've been left homeless. As a nurse, Yvrose held a medical clinic for a couple of days during the trip.
The team also worked on the church building as well as holding an evening preaching revival and a daytime Vacation Bible School.
Groups are will be going back to Haiti, July 27-August 5, 2010. Please contact us right away if you are interested!
