Felting Workshop

Felt hearts

Jay Kendall has been spinning and working with wool and felt since 1989.  A member of the East Sussex Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers, Jay has participated in numerous workshops and demonstrated her own skills throughout the county - she says "If I'm not knitting, dyeing, spinning or making felt, I'm asleep!"

Join her for a relaxed, enjoyable workshop to make your own felted hearts, art and wearable creations.

Wool jumpers, felt off cuts, yarn, buttons and a little Blue Peter know-how will be turned into an array of wonderful felt decorations, each one unique to the crafter.

In the morning workshop you will utilise recycled materials to create heart shaped lavender bags, cards and jewellery.

After a light lunch, you will create dry felt hearts and balls using clean natural fleece sourced from local sheep. Hand-dyed British merino wool will finish off the heart shapes - or any other shape you care to create!

Even complete novices will find Jay's instruction easy to follow, allowing them to create delightful felt balls, hearts and other delightful treats.

Everything required will be supplied, including all wool, recycled materials, card blanks, lavender, felting needles, and sponges or foam - but you are welcome to bring along buttons, sewing needles & scissors.

When: 10 to 4pm, Saturday 5 February

Where: The Barn at Much Ado
