Meet Simon Muggleton and Norman Franks, editors of Air Commodore D'Arcy Greig's memoir, My Golden Flying Years - From 1918 over France, through Iraq in the 1920s, to the Schneider Trophy race of 1929.

This is the first publication of a memoir Greig wrote more than 40 years ago, which fortuitously came into the hands of flight enthusiast Muggleton. He and Norman Frank recognised immediately that it was an important contribution to Britain's and the RAF's early history.

 It is a fascinating period piece, told by an experienced RAF pilot of the 1920s. Witty and humorous, it gives a fascinating first-hand insight into the very early days of flying.
 

Simon and Norman will be in The Barn at Much Ado Books from 2 to 4pm on Sunday, 16 January.
